This is what I like about it. The world isn’t at stake, but their lives actually are because they aren’t immortal. It’s more like a fun action show than a superhero flick.

There is an Iron Heart series in the works.

Basically a genius teenager builds their own Iron Man suit.

Looks like items looted from Avengers compound is going to result in some new heroes/villains.

After finishing episode 4, I feel even more strongly about this opinion I posted in the Disney thread:

I've liked everything in the show until the rooftop fight.

That was lame, knowing both those women are out to avenge someone. And Hawkeye has a solid ten seconds to lean over the edge and check on Katie before fight resumes? Okay. No.

I dunno. I kinda think if Marvel offers you a multi-movie contract, you figure out a way to become un-busy.

Street level heroes rather than Cosmic scale heroes. I feel like this is the best we have seen that dichotomy done this well, the netflix just didn't hit the mark.

Agreed, They're clearly building a young avengers team, and Kate is the most fleshed out character of the bunch so far. the rest have been 1 episode 5th billing, So I think Kate is the centerpiece "tony level" character of the ensemble.

We've had 5 Disney Plus TV shows this year, and they have introduced 6 obvious young avengers. When an Avengers team initially assembles, There are always 6 heroes.

Wiccan
Speed
Patriot
Kid Loki
Young Suri
Hawkeye

If I'm guessing like F&WS ends with an announcement of CA4, this show ends with an announcement of the Young Avengers. Only two of them currently exist in our main timeline, so it's going to take some storytelling, but I think the 6 of them come together.

Well I'm 2 episodes into this and so far it is easily the worst of the new Marvel shows. It's more "Disney" than any other new show. Maybe this is the Christmas angle coming through too much? I find Kate's action scenes not very believable and generally poor. I'll watch the rest to see if it improves, but I don't have high hopes.

The Disney Christmas angle gives it charm IMO.

Clint takes on the Grinch role with the shrunken heart cause of his riddled past and Kate is the incessantly upbeat girl trying to shake that Christmas spirit out of him.

Overall it's a nice break from the mystic/multiverse/big picture conflicts and brings the story back to the street/neighborhood level where its all about beating up thugs and saving innocents.

After Eternals, this show is exactly what the MCU needed. The franchise could be accused of biting off more than it can chew lately in terms of scope at the sacrifice of its former level of quality. Some good old character bonding/adventuring is a positive.

Couldn't agree more. The MCU seems like its going to be crazy and hard to keep up with now that they've decided to do the multiverse thing. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt but after watching Loki (haven't seen Eternals yet) I'm a little concerned that the MCU is just going to use the multiverse as a crutch to bombard us with movies and one off characters with little development.

To keep on track, I've enjoyed the hawkeye series and can echo others sentiments that it's nice to be in New York during Christmas instead of flying around the cosmos.

I'm still waiting to see them CGI Kevin McAllister in there running through a fight scene.

Throw a brick at someone and then give Hawkeye a wink and thumbs-up.

There's a big cameo at the end of the latest episode and it's great. Avoid IMDB if you don't want to be spoiled because they're listed in the cast.

It's early in the day so I'll wrap this in spoilers:

I really like Yelena. I enjoyed her in the Black Widow movie as well. She's got a fun, dark sense of humour.

Marvel just keeps giving the fans what they want!

I’m enjoying Hawkeye but it feels like the writers have tried jamming too much in. We’ve got Clint dealing with his grief losing Nat, Clint dealing with his past as Ronin that introduces Echo, Kate Bishop and her family being introduced with a murder mystery, Christmas themes, a LARP costume origin side plot, the Yelena Black Widow tie in, and now another villain is introduced. Feels like 6 episodes isn’t enough and this could have been covered over multiple seasons.

I'm not entirely sure 'longevity' is in the cards for this one other than maybe moving forward with Bishop.

Believe it or not, Renner is getting up there. I think he's about 50?

Plus my understanding is that he can be a pain to work with.

Either way, he's another Avenger they're gradually going to be phasing out. I like the elements where he's hurt and needs to heal and his hearing is busted and all that, but I think there is more to that. Hawkeye is likely going to be hanging up his bow pretty quick here.

They are adding quite a few balls into the game rather late.

She is great. I love her dark humour and easy-going attitude.

I thought this series has been a breath of fresh air from some pretty under whelming back to back releases for Marvel (Shang Chi, Eternals, possibly even Winter Soldier/Falcon?).

I enjoyed the real setting versus the CGI room as well.

I think this story could have been told in 4 episodes and trimmed some stuff out, but I'm ok with it as long as it sticks the landing.
