Players will still go in, however this is definitely a black mark on all of the players who were part of that team.

For sure. That should be investigated further or Beach should float it out there.

If Shoeless Joe isn't in the hall, then none of these guys should be.

If its a Hall of Fame without 'Cotton-eyed Joe' then its a Hall of Fame not worth having.

Why would Shoeless Joe be in the Hockey Hall of Fame?

All that matters really is that these guys have shown themselves to be cowards and will be remembered by many people as such first and foremost rather than as champs.

Why would Toews be in the hall anyway? If you say “his leadership”, which was entire claim to fame IMO, give yourself a smack.

I admit I clicked on this thread because I thought there'd be more discussion of Hilarious House of Frightenstein.

The Aliu and Beach situations were both on Quenneville and Bowman's watch. Neither will get into the Hall anytime soon, maybe not even in their lifetimes. In order to get in, someone on the committee needs to nominate them first and foremost. I don't see anyone sticking their neck out anytime soon.

I highly doubt that Quenneville will ever be in the HHOF as a result of this. It is a massive stain on his record not only as a coach but also as a person.
As for Toews his record and place in history was based in large part on his leadership abilities, which now has to be seen as a joke. He is still a Hall of Fame level of player but his standing as a top 100 player of all time is very debatable, especially ahead of better players in Malkin and Iginla.

Oh… what about the comments on Beach missing his boyfriend? What about those players? Were they in the leadership core? Did the core know? They sure aren’t being transparent about that. Toews tone deaf comments this week also didn’t help his case.

Because he easily deserves it, based on his points and shut down ability. Remember, his job was to shut down the other teams best players. You may want to smack yourself.

Nah this isn’t a new opinion for me. He’s overrated as #### and always been on stacked teams.

If Joe Jackson is barred from the baseball hall of fame, then letting these guys into the hockey hall of fame would be a friggin travesty.
One guy refused to participate in throwing games in the World Series. Not only did he refuse the bribe payments his teammates accepted, he even tried to report it to the team owner who refused to meet with him. On top of all of that, not only did he refuse to take part in throwing the games, he wound up leading both teams in hitting and even set a World Series record for base hits. Result: barred for life from playing the majors as well as hall of fame eligibility, just because he was part of the story. The seven players who actually took bribes and worked to throw the games even admitted (much later, albeit) that Joe wasn't involved or in any of the meetings, etc. They only tried to get him in on it because his stature - "If Joe's in, everyone else will follow."
As for the Blackhawks people... these guys knew that one of their players was raped by one of their coaches but did nothing about it, and even helped the coach get hired elsewhere (where he commited other assaults). They covered the whole thing up "because they wanted to focus on winning the cup." Teammates chased... well I don't think I need to repeat everything we already know.
I'm just saying. What a conversation on integrity that would be if the hockey hall let any of these clowns in.

Repeating a very wrong opinion doesn’t make it any better.

No comment , I don’t know their involvement and neither do you.
go ask the NHL to investigate and punish them if they participated

Oh. No comment.
Well that really speaks to the highest levels of integrity and honour in the entire case.
Keith says he never knew anything, but facts and logic really aren’t his strong suit, so I could also see truth going out the car window.

They didn’t do anything to stop it.
I’m sorry, but if you hear someone call someone else a f***** and do nothing, you’re a piece of ####.

Towes is on record saying he didn’t find out until training camp the next year which would be September of 2010.
Beach claims the slurs continued until 2014.
Towes was the captain of that team and did nothing protect Beach. I have a hard time believing that Towes, Kane, and Keith didn’t know that slurs were being directed towards this player for four years.
