Hedman, Makar, Fox, and Carlson are who I would have above. I think he's same level as Pietrangelo, Josi and Slavin, and better because of D+O than Hamilton, Theodore, and Klingberg on your list. I would also put Ekblad in the group of Pietro-Josi, and believe that Chycrun will be there this season too.
I take McAvoy and his contract ahead of all of the bolded players and their contracts.
Seth Jones being ranked that high is just crazy talk, and Shea Weber may never play hockey again.
Thats good, I wouldn't. Maccavoy is a terrible offensive player. No chance I give someone who can't even outscore TJ Brodie $9.5 million but hey that's just me.

why are you exaggerating to try and make a point? at age 23, McAvoy played at a 48 point pace last year while being one of the best defensive players in the league.
what a weird hill to die on

Huh? At 23 Brodie got 32 points. In 81 games. McAvoy had 30 in 51 games.

McCavoy .52 ppg in his career and a ton of room to grow
Brodie .40 ppg in his career and has peaked at what he will ever do
A very good contract for perennial Norris candidate entering the prime of his career and will continue to play at that level for the next 8 years. I think it's a win for the Bruins.
