Hedman, Makar, Fox, and Carlson are who I would have above. I think he's same level as Pietrangelo, Josi and Slavin, and better because of D+O than Hamilton, Theodore, and Klingberg on your list. I would also put Ekblad in the group of Pietro-Josi, and believe that Chycrun will be there this season too.

Both of you have the reigning Norris winner too low, even though he did spite us.

I take McAvoy and his contract ahead of all of the bolded players and their contracts.

Seth Jones being ranked that high is just crazy talk, and Shea Weber may never play hockey again.

Thats good, I wouldn't. Maccavoy is a terrible offensive player. No chance I give someone who can't even outscore TJ Brodie $9.5 million but hey that's just me.

why are you exaggerating to try and make a point? at age 23, McAvoy played at a 48 point pace last year while being one of the best defensive players in the league.

what a weird hill to die on

Huh? At 23 Brodie got 32 points. In 81 games. McAvoy had 30 in 51 games.

McCavoy .52 ppg in his career and a ton of room to grow

Brodie .40 ppg in his career and has peaked at what he will ever do

What?

Can someone list all the defenseman that have signed recently for at least $8M please? With ages.

IMO, Werenski's contract will rank very favorably on that list.

Points per game and actual points scored are 2 different things.

A very good contract for perennial Norris candidate entering the prime of his career and will continue to play at that level for the next 8 years. I think it's a win for the Bruins.

Well yeah...because they havent played the same amount of games.

So lets do this

Since McCavoy entered the NHL as a 19 year old in 17/18 til now

122 pts in 234 games

Brodie as a seasoned vet playing 1st pairing including with a Norris winner?

101 pts in 274 games

So again....what?

Lol so edgy. Didn't say he sucks, he's a 15-20 defenceman in the NHL IMO and that means he's a good dman.

Holy crap. You're not even moving the goalposts; you decided to pick them up and just leave the field of play with them. This is a bold strategy.

I could see McAvoy winning a Norris during this contract. He is highly viewed among people who decide these things
