Pro scouting can't get a lot worse so the addition of Clancey can only be viewed as a good thing even if hires with past connections to Brad Treliving haven't worked out overly well.

Strange to see Ron Sutter go while the other Sutter comes in? Guess someone has to go take care of the farm.
I thought Loob was a pro scout

Which pro European did Loob find? Or even amateur European? Most of their European picks never turned out

Fujita did powerskating for one of my kids teams throughout last season and summer. She is amazing and the boys absolutely love her and really respond to her teaching style. Seems like a fantastic person. Selfishly, I'm sad my kid will likely lose access to her but it's great to see her get a full-time gig with the Flames.

Soltys is a friend of mine. He took a pro scout position with the Red Wings.

A video clip where Fujita shares her philosophy, with comments from Valimaki.

Is it just me? or has an incredible PUSH just happened by Flames owners, management and coaches.

This is awesome. Darryl teaching and new assistant coaches with allot of familiarity with our prospects and now NEW scouts and a skating coach.

I'm thrilled to see this.

The players can NEVER say they feel like they are being held back or not given a chance.....because the onus is on them to be good willing students of the game which will in turn make them better people as well.

Good Job Flames.....this effort shouldn't go unnoticed.

Well, as Estrada said, it’s not like pro scouting was a strength so this should be a good move. Pittsburgh has been pretty good in pro scouting IMO. And I’m happy they have a skating coach. That kind of skill can’t be switched on in a summer camp.

Danielle taught power skating and figure skating in my community for as long as I can remember. 20+ years at least. Really cool to see.

Stating the obvious here but Danielle needs to have a nice long session with Matthew

If Matty could even kinda skate at an NHL level, he'd be unstoppable. Luckily he reads and reacts at an elite level and just knows where to be most of the time. Guys like that usually age pretty well. He'd be a good investment if he'd just mature a little and tone his antics down.

Brady and Matthew are really different players, it's kinda neat. If you combined them you'd probably have Keith Tkachuk lol. I still have tons of hope for him but I don't think he even realizes yet how much work goes into being a leader and leading by example.

Apparently Matt has taken lessons in the summers from the same woman who changed Point into a good skater. But maybe he needs a longer term approach.

Here's hoping because Tkachuk at even an average speed would really make him alot more dynamic.

Making changes and additions to player development feels like it can inly be a good thing, as the Flames really haven't been that great at it. I feel like very few young players take notable steps forward after joining the Flames.
