Arizona has done well fetching picks. But maybe they've gone too far. And a lot of their picks have come from young players - the type that are usually kept during a rebuild.

His numbers will probably improve but I think that's asking a lot for a guy whose best seasonal pace has been 45 points.

They'll surely trade Kessel at some point this season.
Their entire core:
-Keller, who is slightly overpaid
-Chychrun, who is extremely good, but injury prone
-Nick Schmaltz, he's pretty good, but not really a franchise piece

they are getting their ducks in a row to surround Matthews with a bunch of young stars when he signs as a free agent in 3 years.
they could be an absolute powerhouse at that time.

45 points is damn impressive for the way they managed him. Guy has oodles of talent, really wish we could have snagged him.

I think they managed him just fine... he was their regular 2C and killed penalties. I don't see much more than a Tyler Bozak/Mikael Backlund-type of player here... his underlyings have been solid in the past but were awful last year.

Yeah, that's meaningless, they'll just trade those young draft picks for more draft picks, til they has all the draft picks, and their team will still be awful.
Wonder why the Yotes can't attract fans. Maybe its the perpetual cycle of rebuilds and suck.
