Get good deals when Lou holds your family hostage.

Agreed, he is one of my favourite non-Flames. Every time I see him he has a positive and noticeable impact on the game. I had hoped we could flip Gaudreau for Beau + earlier this offseason.

I don't think the Palmieri deal is all that great. This will take him to 35 and he played at a 34 pt pace last year.

I'm sure it's long to keep the AAV down, but 6 years for Cizikas is a long time. He is 30 already.

Yikes at Palmieri.

Probably a 2M player value-wise at this point.

That Beauvillier though...really like his deal. After Barzal, I think he's their best young player.

Was just going to say this. I see Palmieri continuing to be effective in a lesser role, due to his constant effort. However, in 1-2 years, $5 million will be an overpayment. Palmieri is likely to slip into a Stajan/Ryan type role, and $5 million will just be too much.

I love the Cizikas deal. Yes it might be a year or two too long but he is such a good bottom 6 forward. He would have been an amazing Derek Ryan replacement. I would love to have him on our team but he was never going to leave the Isles.

They can't move Boychuck to IR until the season begins. Parise will most likely attend camp as a PTO and then sign officially when the season begins.
