They did for 7 seasons, and it wasn't great. The building is built for Basketball so the sightlines are terrible, the ice is under the stands in some spots and the experience wasn't great.
Similar to the Islanders playing in Brooklyn.

Bettman is too proud/stubborn to do it, but just getting this team to Houston in the hands of Fertitta is the right move here.
Bigger market, with a downtown rink available, and a rich owner who is very motivated to make it happen.

The silver spaceship looking thing is the football stadium. The arena is the building on the far left closest to the stadium.

I'm not sure that's necessarily good for us. That threat (which I fully believe Murray Edwards was prepared to make good on) likely helped with negotiations with the City for the new arena.
