You're not going to get anything of value for Giordano from a team that would also lose him for nothing. And you're going to lose another player anyway.
Sometimes the only rational move is to play the cards you're dealt.
Anyway, the poster I was responding to hates Treliving passionately and was, in effect, mocking him for doing what every GM of every team in every sport does every day: turning down offers that don't benefit his team.

That's what I tell my wife when she tells me to go buy something I don't want. "I looked at lots of different options but the prices just didn't make sense" meanwhile I'd just go out for lunch.
