Well. Here we go.
Tarasenko, Kyrou, 2021 1st STL for Chuckles.
2x RW and 1st for a top line LW. Get instant RW depth.
Gaudreau can stay.
Gaudreau- Lindholm-Tarasenko
Mangiapane-Monahan-Kyrou
Lucic-Backlund-Dube
×××-×××-×××
I'd somehow try and grow the deal to grab Kostin though.

Why not just add Kostin to the package? Kyrou is a nice player but not a game changer like Tkachuk. Tarasenko is a huge gamble and could be a complete boat anchor, the first is right in the middle of the round and the draft is the biggest crapshoot. You could add Kostin to the deal and I am still don’t love it. Hate giving up the best and youngest player.

There is no deal to be made with St Louis for Tkachuk that makes sense.

Of course you do your due diligence, but St Louis just doesn't have the pieces. Unless Calgary wants to get annihilated in a trade, that is.
The best-case scenario is you get Robert Thomas or Jordan Kyrou, and they're just not good enough players. St Louis only has middling picks to offer. Their stars are all older and/or have bad contracts.
Doesn't make sense.

Just it being reported definitely gives a where’s there smoke there’s fire vibe.
I have a feeling that Tkachuk might be the core piece out this season.

What about Scott Perunovich? Is he still seen as a top D prospect for the Blues?

Yeah, there is no one really that impressive on their roster in the age range that is interesting to me.
Any trade for Tkachuk would have to start with at least one 1st rounder in 2022 or 2023, unprotected... maybe even both.
Kyrou and Thomas are more ok, but not core pieces especially if part of the deal is tanking on the Tarasenko anchor.

I believe he's missed the entire last season due to injury.
The Blues currently have zero attractive prospects I would want in a Tkachuk deal. Kostin isn't close to being good enough. Neither is Jake Neighbours. Their pool is depleted and their top young players aren't in the same category.
The Flames can't afford to give Tkachuk away for mid-tier assets. It's all St Louis has right now.

I don't think I would even trade Mangiapane for Kyrou or Thomas. Making them the core pieces for a Tkachuk deal would set the team back years.

Tarasenkos shoulder surgeries performed by team doctors.
"In March, The Athletic wrote about those procedures and a third one, in 2020, which was carried out by non-club doctors at the Steadman Clinic in Edwards, Colo. The ligament damage from the first injury was not corrected in either of the first two operations, sources say, and wasn’t caught until Tarasenko was seen by the doctors at Steadman."

He'll probably end up on the US east coast and pot 35+ again.

A lot of posters seem to think Buffalo is going to be disappointed with the offers they will get for Eichel but seem to think we can get whatever we want for Tkachuk. Eichel >>Tkachuk
Tarasenko is a risk but he is also a pretty good player too. If we can land Thomas and their first in this draft IMO that is a pretty good haul.
Sure in a perfect world we just keep Tkachuk. Unfortunately if he doesn't want to be here that isn't going to be an option.

People think Eichel's trade value might be compromised because of his very unusual injury. Tarasenko has been one of the most injury-plagued guys in the league for a while, now (and hasn't been great when he's been in the lineup).
Tkachuk is young, he's great, he's still an RFA, and he's managed to stay pretty healthy. I think there are very few concerns about his durability, particularly when compared to Eichel and Tarasenko.

That is a terrible haul for Tkachuk. He has no NTC so we can shop him for much better offers than that.

Tarasenko is a physically broken 30 year old, their 1st is 16th overall in a weak draft, and Robert Thomas had 12 points in 33 games this season.
That’s a horrible trade.

No one is saying we can get whatever we want for Tkachuk but many are saying the Blues have terrible assets. Buffalo fans have a higher expectation on their return than Flames fans have for Tkachuk so your Eichel >> Tkachuk comment is irrelevant. Many Flames fans have advocated for Tkachuk+Zary+12th overall as a base for Eichel so it is known who has more value. Keep in mind Tkachuk isn’t sidelined with a neck injury either.

What was that st.louis reporters musings last time this bubbled up, a signed Parayko, a player and a pick? Or was it worse than that. Or was it both Parayko and Tarasenko?
