Don't take this the wrong way, but if it were a safety issue, playoff games or not, it would be a meaningless game. There really isn't a reason not to play these games other than them not mattering at all.

They matter for draft positioning.

Might just call it a season.

If you take the trouble to write them, I will read them. However, I wouldn’t be upset if you didn’t bother.

I'll be watching, nice to have on while doing some work while the toddler naps this afternoon.
Could be the last few games we see some players in a Flames uniform, you never know.

Canuck tank is working they need to win the next 2 to avoid finishing last in the division.
If the Flames win the next 2 they climb above the Yotes and Hawks in the standings. If the Canucks win the next 2 they pass the Sharks, Kings and Sens in the standings
If the teams split the Canucks pass the Sharks and Kings and the Flames will still pass the Yotes and Hawks.
Basically if the Flames win today I hope they win tomorrow because it means nothing for the standings

I haven't watched a game since the last BOA.
Highlights suffice with the way this season has gone.
Change this next year Flames.

Brings up an interesting thought. Might we have seen Monahan's final game already?

I would imagine Markstrom will want the last game of the year tomorrow? Go out on a high sort of thing? I mean, we can expect Domingue or Parsons today right?

Perhaps, although I expect he needs to play after surgery to establish a better trade value.

I always read and appreciate your Game Takes. However in this case I agree with this post 100%..

I feel the same way about one more animation.

You'd think, but I can see him being made part of a package before he plays again because he has term left and hasn't panned out here the last two seasons, and given how Lindholm is working for us at C.
Counter argument though is Sutter has liked his body of work. So what do I know.

Lots of guys get traded prior to surgery. Eichel will be, and his surgery - assuming he gets his way - is a lot more unknown as far as result than Monahan’s.

Going out winning 6 of 7 is better than being total chumps and having the dismal Canucks make you look worse than them.
The only acceptable way to tank is sitting your top vets so that you're more susceptible to losing.
But I don't like the top players phoning it in if they are playing. If there's no reason you should lose given your roster, then don't.
Don't need to instill a Buffalo culture here.
