Never realized until seeing the stats this morning the Oilers are 29-16-2. I never would have predicted that going into the season with that roster. Credit to them. I mean, E still = no good, but they have done a heck of a lot better than I would have assumed. Some of their off season moves that I thought would help didn’t do much (Turris, Ennis), but Barrie has helped them. Other than the usual two scorers I guess it’s Nurse stepping up and the play of Smith.

For me tonight is win/win. Lose the game, better for draft position. Beat the Oilers, always feels good. Either way I need to stock up on some booze to be able to watch this one.

Pfft McDavid has averaged 3 points per game the last 5 games. They're still a 1-2 trick pony as far as I'm concerned.

And no matter where we are in the standings, always, ALWAYS have to beat the Oilers.

I've been thinking about what Darryl would have said after last games loss.

Seeing him stand on the bench and leave last. Summoning up the courage TBQH?

I wanna see an effort but we cannot win with Dump and chase. We need out D skating the puck out of our end ....too many errant passes from our D who seem to be clutching the sticks hard .

Our forwards need to backcheck like crazy and give time and space to our D.

I've said this so many times before but we cannot play perimeter hockey.

The book has been out on the Flames for so long....let the Flames stay to the outside, they think they can win ....ha ha ha.

Hold the puck, take back the middle of the ice , drive the net ,crash and bang .

Don't lose to the greasers.

And dump and chase is especially ineffective against the oilers if Smith is back there. Which I assume he will be tonight.

Exactly. Ryan pinder made a good point this morning on the fan. As a fan, you hope for the team to go either 8-0 or 0-8. Worst case scenario, which is the most likely one unfortunately, is that they 4-4 of course.

Hey, hockey in May and we are like in playoff until mid of May. I take it until Flames is out. Today beat Oilers and I'll be happy for a while.

That would be the flames’ way.... if so let’s hope two of those wins are against the oilers.

First off good to see a return to the lines that got them two wins against Montreal in yesterday's practice. I honestly don't get why they mixed them up for game three. Took away some of the offensive mojo (looked to)

The Flames are likely not making the playoffs, but I'm with those that find last night's Montreal loss interesting. Why not get Montreal done their schedule with Calgary say 6 points back and four games to play against Vancouver?

Would be a really interesting way to end a very odd season.

The Canucks just lost 3 of 4 to the Sens and we're badly outplayed. They won't be winning many with their schedule.

Hoping to win these next 2 so we can split the series with the Oil
My feelings exactly, game will be on a side screen, no sound. NFL Draft on the main screen. Yesterday gives a slight glimmer of hope, a win here adds a sliver.

They are going 8-0. Tonight the frog gets 8 crickets dusted in a peach flavoured powder. Next game he gets 7 other treats. Then 6....until we win out. The power of the frog will lead us to the promised land! Froggy magic time!

Wouldn't worst case be 7-1 and missing by the 1?

No.

It would be worse going 8-0 and missing out, as Montreal is already ahead (but we're saying the same thing).

As unlikely as it is the Flames are still in it. Keep the gap where it is and they have the games against the Canucks after Montreal is done.

By that time the Canucks could be running on fumes. The problem is the Flames have a habit of blowing it and not showing up for big games.

If Calgary is alive going into that Canucks series at least it's in their hands. Montreal has won 4 of their last 13. The league tacked those games on because they though both teams would be long done....would be funny holding everything up. Loyd Christmas likes those odds.

I still don't understand why they changed what was working (lines) for the 3rd game vs the Habs. There was no reason to change anything.

This means they’ll lose 5 seconds into overtime so that nobody is happy.

It is the way.
