Surprising, but looks like he has progressed in the right direction. Looking forward to see what he can do in Stockton. I’m guessing he will be eligible to play in 7 days? Or is that updated quarantine rule only for NHL teams/players?

He should need a week of quarantine, yes.

Wow, that's surprising!

Will be interesting to see what the kid can bring in Stockton!

Note: Isn't he ridiculously young? Like just turned 18 in the fall?

Kuznetsov turned 19-years-old two weeks ago. Yes, he is still ridiculously young; he was the youngest player in the entire NCAA in his draft year.

He just turned 19 and i don't know about the skillsets just yet.

That is quite the optimistic projection but this club sure could use a prospect breaking out. Let's check back in two years.

CapFriendly @CapFriendly
Yan Kuznetsov's contract with the Calgary #Flames begins this season 2020-21

However, his signing age is 19 and therefore he is eligible for 1 slide. Meaning he will only "burn" his first year if he plays in 7 NHL games this season

Cap hit: $900k

With his size and shot, maybe try him out and see if he can replace 3/4 of the Flames defensive corps. Maybe he'll turn out to be another Chara albeit 5" shorter and 30-40lbs lighter at the moment. He's 19 or 20. So, he might still grow more - who knows?

No.

That line is reserved for one team, and one team only.

Is he eligible to play for Stockton now? He just has to clear quarantine? It would be big for his development to continue to play this season, rather than the handful of games he got at UConn.

I assume he’s going to play at least one game in the big show just because

Maybe. There's 2 or 3 other guys on the farm who should get some NHL games as well. I assume all these "educational " games will come after the deadline and being mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.

There's Mackey, Poolman, Lerby,Petrovic and Kuznetsov who will see a game or two I imagine.

I like that he plays at UConn because I giggle to myself thinking about Yukon having a top notch hockey program.
