For reference, the statement, before he deleted it was a claim of authority with a comparison that a chemist would be more likely to be able to identify chemistry related problems. So what is the natural assumption there? That his profession allows him to see cons easier which is why "if he can get fooled, anyone can"

Sorry man, I am not going to let you change the narrative. I am done, and I’m just in here retrieving some stuff out of my PM box and trying to remove my avatar. To be honest, I really wasn’t enjoying here since I returned anyway.

That's not the point I was trying to make, or claim to be 'special'.

I had a ton of experience working in credit, and was very in the loop on all the different credit fraud/identity fraud scams out there. There would be regular bulletins emailed in to us about scams. More than once I caught it in the act happening under my own nose.... so yes, I am probably a little more dialed in than the average person on this stuff.

If I can make an analogy. A chemist is going to have a better idea of what chemicals not to mix in their garage. This was in my general field of expertise, and I still mixed bleach and vinegar.

I spent 9 years as a licensed Financial Services manager at the dealership and was the dealerships designated compliance officer before I became used car manager. Over those 9 years I also sat through countless fraud prevention seminars, plus was emailed fraud alerts sometimes daily to protect the dealership, and also some strangers, sometimes I’ve never met, identity. So yes, I can claim to be an authority on the subject.

I was licensed to broker loans for over a dozen chartered banks and licensed to sell insurance and equipment warranties.

The whole purpose of the post was to try and be informative and helpful, as yes, me getting stung by identity theft was definitely a cruel irony, when I should have known better.

You took that as an opportunity to assume I am a crooked scumbag because I am in the automotive business. And you know it.

Seriously. I literally do not need this or the slander from people like you that are making assumptions without even knowing who I am, nor my track record in my industry. Which for the record, is completely unblemished over 20 years.
