Who said he should be remembered positively? I just don't see why people would be openly happy that another human being passed away. He had his schtick but it's not like he murdered anyone or anything. If you didn't like his radio show you simply didn't have to listen.
Because like it or not, he is a voice of influence. People listen to him. They take his opinions and it forms their world view. His opinions are racist, homophobic, and hurtful. Him being gone means he can no longer perpetuate that trash, and inspire his listeners to act in ways that mirror his opinions. These actions directly harm others. So it shouldn't come as surprise to those of us that view racists homophobes spreading hate dying as a good thing. Him being dead actually makes the world a better place. For that, I'm happy to celebrate.

I think it’s the influence the guy had. Life isn’t rosy and I don’t think anyone expects people to blow smoke up peoples butts all the time, but he exaggerated or made up things and his niche grew into a following. It’s one thing to believe false things but when it’s painting certain people as evil, it’s a cruel thing to do. Maybe he believed it too we don’t know. He just wasn’t a good person. The less left and right wing nuts in the world the better.

Limbaugh was a net negative to society, he did nothing but spout hatred and lies and was one of the primary causes of the extreme political divide that has broken the US. I don't blame anyone for being happy that he can't do that anymore
His media empire has probably done more to cause division than Fox News.
It's not even that, it's the countless others he has inspired. Alex Jones, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Mark Levin etc... He showed the path to riches is simply be angry and divisive. He is one of the architects of why America is so broken right now.

#RestinPiss is trending on twitter right now. The double standards online nowadays are totally insane. I realize the circumstances of their deaths were totally different, but George Floyd was a convicted violent criminal. Say anything negative about him or his past and you get absolutely vilified online, nevermind the 'happy he's dead' comments.
My wife told me the news. I told her I felt terrible about it. She said why, I seemed so happy and had such a big smile on my face. I told her that's what I feel bad about. I should not feel so much joy from another's demise. But the hateful rhetoric and vitriol he would spew on his programs, hate that divided this country to the point of insurrection, is enough to make me feel the world is a better place without him.

"Both sides, many sides"
You really love going out of your way to trip over your own dick, eh? At least you're carrying on his legacy.
lmao at this decorum horse####. It's ####ing Rush Limbaugh, a man who repeatedly blamed black children for getting shot by police.

George Floyd was murdered and people saw his death as symbolic of a larger issue. His criminal past is largely irrelevant to that.
Rush died peacefully among the people he loved, after spending decades spreading hate, vocally delighting in the deaths and misery of millions, and being a major contributor to the current state of politics in the U.S.
But sure, it's totally the same.

he mocked gay people who died from AIDS. He was a racist bigot who also denied climate change, said Covid was like a cold and said Michael J. Fox faked the symptoms of his illness. And that's just a few highlights. The man was a vile ####### who spread hate, plain and simple.
and yeah, some comments on social media regarding his death have been over the top, but the lesson here is: don't live a life that makes people celebrate your death.
He is was such a terrible person, I thought when I read this, wow that shines a nice light on him. He was such a piece of ####.

And I assume a good many of these people are not sincere in the opinions they express. They just know there are rubes willing to make them rich for playing the part.
The world is a better place without Limbaugh but he inspired so many others and it's quite likely that the void he leaves will be filled with someone even worse.
