I wonder if given the option, would the Jets fans want their REAL Jets team back, or keep the frauds in Jets' silks?

Hahah I’m sorry.. I just feel like they are the 2nd most problematic franchise due to less fan support and historically don’t want to pay players so they continually offload talent and replace them with bargain bin players and the cycle continues.
Arizona, Florida, Carolina and NYI I would say have all had their fare share of issues but yes you are right Arizona is alone on an island as being the biggest joke in the league.
I also would love to see the Nordiques return and relocating Arizona doesn’t help with that as no other team can be moved into the west once things get back to normal.
But, like I said I’m sorry hahah they are looking outstanding this year and when they are a better team fan interest improves so I shouldn’t pick on them.

The Coyotes aren't cursed. They're a brutally bleeding franchise in a terrible location for hockey. They get the bottom of the barrel as a result. It's not a curse, it's asset quality.

I think it would be cool to have a paper transaction where the Thrashers are retired or rolled into the Coyotes and Winnipeg gets the Jets 1.0 history.

The Browns moved to Baltimore. Now we have the Browns 2.0. I don't know what each side does with franchise records.

Other than being a billionaire, mandatory precursors to being an NHL team owner are one's love of the game and one's sincere commitment to treating the team as your community asset. Neither Meruelo nor Gutierrez seem to possess those qualities whatsoever. What's going on there is not at all surprising and, actually, was to be expected.
Honestly, I have zero understanding of Bettman's fixation on developing Arizona hockey market...

To be fair, we got Matthew Tkachuk out of it. Although, the Tkachuk brothers probably no different regardless of where Keith is playing

In theory, it should be a good market. It's a large growing city. Many transplants from the north. Their lower levels of hockey are picking up steam in the state. Geographically, it fills a gap as well. It's also relatively wealthy and the demographics look good on paper.
They just made so many poor decisions the whole way.

nik- is right, Glendale is a terrible location for an NHL team.
Phoenix would be a fine spot. But they aren't there and it's a pain in the ass for people to get to Glendale. Hence, attendance problems.
Also, this article is an absolutely terrible look for the team, my goodness. Great reporting by Katie Strang.

The Ravens are considered an expansion team made up of former Browns, while the current Browns are a continuation of the original franchise. No idea why the NHL hasn’t done the same for the Jets.

Funny thing is - you get there and the arena is great and the entertainment area is pretty good. But surely there were other options. On the reserve near Talking Stick. In the University district.
It’s not so much that Glendale is far from Phoenix. It’s that it’s far from Scottsdale.

Sounds like Alex Meruelo and co. are upset that they've been exposed as the chiseling chiselers that they are.

If you told me 12 months ago there would be an owner who would easily take the crown from Eugene Melnyk, I would've thought you were insane.
But here we are.
