I would imagine that the Canucks come out hard in trying to keep themselves 'in it' (though I agree that they are basically already out of it).
I think if the Flames weather that 1st period storm, and play a patient game to start, they will just steamroll over Vancouver. I think the Flames win the game in the 1st period.

I’m a little nervous about tonight. Feels like a trap game.

4-1 Flames win. Come out slow and Markstrom will hold the fort. Then they’ll control the rest of the game easily.

Need to stay out of the penalty box - the Nucks live and die with their PP
Get a lead, then grind them into submission

So other than Hughes and Myers being atrocious defensively, what are the rest of Vancouver's defensive pairings like? I haven't watched any of their games.
I'm quite comfortable with the way the Flames are rolling three good lines right now and I can't see any of their D-pairings having a favorable match up against any of our lines.

I think it will be key to get up early on them and see if they fold and stop competing.

why has Hamonic only played 5 games? Is he hurt, or healthy scratched?

That's not what I am saying actually. I mean that I think Vancouver will come out hard, but if the Flames are able to withstand that push, by the time the first period ends, it will essentially be over for Vancouver. I, of course, make that prediction based on the expectation that the Flames don't stop playing in periods 2 and 3.

With how bad the Canucks have been playing and the Flames finally looking good last game, this has trap written all over it

I'm assuming Markstrom in goal?
I'd really like to see Rittich get in the net for one (possibly 2) of the next 4 against Van, so he's sharp and ready to play in next weeks back to back BOA.
I hate it when it seems like we are riding goalies chasing W's.

Here is what I would do:
Markstrom: 11, 13, 15, 20, 22, 24 Feb
Rittich: 17, 19, 25 Feb
Start Markstrom tonight, and then each off the next two in Vancouver provided he wins. Then start Rittich in the home-game on Wednesday, with the hopes of getting him some run-support, and then again on Friday. Markstrom plays Saturday in Edmonton, then two in Toronto. Rittich plays the following night in Ottawa.

Taking a while to get to 5000

This team's biggest issue is always going to be its consistency. Play with the fire and pace of the last two games and its an easy win. Slide into habits from just a few games prior to that and we're shaking our heads about a missed opportunity.

Made some bets with my Canucks fan dad today
Real:
new jersey if there is a series sweep
$10 per fight win
Loser of series wears a dress and shoots from the short tees next time we golf
Less real:
I get his new car if Markstrom gets a series Shutout
He gets my P.O.S. car if Petterson score 7 goals
Needless to say this is a big 4 games!!!! Go Flames Go!

The Flames are essentially a .500 team this season. The Flames issues are bigger than we could imagine if any game on their upcoming schedule is a trap game.

Sad to say, it depends a lot on reffing. The Flames were trying to avoid penalties against the Jets, who also have a great power play. But it didn’t matter.
