I'm okay with him being out there when there is an offensive zone faceoff. That way he can go straight to the net and stay there. Too often we see him try to get involved in the zone entry and the play just dies.

This is not a "fact." This is a product of your selective viewing on the basis of a predetermined belief about what is actually going on, all filtered through frequently misleading television cameras.

Everything is a lie and the media is trying to paint a narrative and I'm being a sheep for just taking what I see on the screen as a reaction from a coach at face value?

am I doing it right?

No, you are not.

Two things:

1) You have not possibly watched and tracked the totality of post-goal reactions from every NHL coach.

2) In-game cameras are selective in what is shown, and when. Not every goal—not even most goals—are followed by a bench-shot of the coach. You see it a fraction of the time, and the only reason you have noticed is because Glen Gulutzan was a lousy coach in a year in which the floor monitors were first added to NHL benches.

Sounds like it will be

Tkachuk - Lindholm - Dube
Gaudreau - Monahan - Simon
Mangiapane - Backlund - Leivo
Lucic - Ryan - Nordstrom

I actually kind of wish they would flip Dube and Leivo.

Leivo has had some chemistry with Tkachuk/Lindholm, and I think that Mangiapane-Backlund-Dube could be an interesting third line that could really cause some match up problems for other teams.

Tkachuk - Lindholm - Leivo have only played 16 minutes together (equivalent of just over one game) but they have looked really strong in that time.

80.8% Corsi For (21-5)
84.6% Scoring Chances For (11-2)
100% High Danger (4-0)
71% Shots For (10-4)
90.8% Expected Goals

Maybe give those guys a bit of a longer look together, they looked pretty good together in preseason too.

Lol at the GDT being literally halfway down the page. I’m guessing people have done enough analysis of the Jets, whether we’ll beat the Jets, and whether anyone actually cares.

GFG?

This plus I suspect when he sees it he says “SEE - there he goes again” but when it doesn’t happen it’s forgotten.

One thing I do know is that if they ever missed a challengeable play because they didn’t look I’d be more upset.

I think they show the coach shot when (a) there is a possibility of a challenge, (b) if they are expecting a goalie pull or (c) after a bench minor. The usual post goal shot is scorer, guy who messed up or guy skating from penalty box.

Whereas Ward is a lousy coach years after the floor monitors were added.

Torts doesn't ever look to the sky after a goal is scored. Never mind the other coaches mentioned.

I think I've heard it all now.

Anyhoo.........Go Flames!
