Luckily (for us and ownership I guess), Ward makes a small salary so far as coaches go so if they can him, meh.

Don’t let the last 2 goals fool you. Garbage team was garbage and got what they deserved - another humiliating loss.

I'm not going to lose my head after the 6th game of the season.

Still, a little entertainment would have been nice.

It's not too late to call Gallant or Boudreau.

Time to make Tkachuk the captain.
I don't think Tkachuk is ready to be captain. He is not in control of his emotions yet...has to mature.

I don’t agree. I thought him and Lindholm were great in the 1st. The entire team was invisible from the 2nd on.

I shouldn’t be surprised with the effort. This has been going on for many years. Going into last off season I said they needed to do at least 2 things to become successful. One was to get a better coach. Two was to shake up the core. They needed to trade GIo and one of Johnny and Mony. None of that happened. They kept the same core but added to it. 2 good new players aren’t going to come to a new team and take over the locker room. Sorry but having a captain that isn’t big in the room and shows it on the ice is great when that captain can show it on the ice. Gio is fading and it reminds me of Iggy as captain when his game tailed off.

I'm not holding my breath but I would like to see lineup changes:

Tkachuk - Lindholm - Dube
Gaudreau - Monahan - Bennett
Mangiapane - Backlund - Leivo
Robinson - Ryan - Simon

Not that Bennett deserves it but Simon doesn't seem to bring much to that line.

Yup, the worst thing about the Flames this year is that they’ve been very boring. They’ve played ok hockey but the games just aren’t fun to watch. Nobody’s hitting, Johnny’s not dancing, Tkachuk has no antics.

Hockey is a sport but at the end of the day they get paid the big bucks because they’re fun to watch.

I know where you're coming from, but Rittich was watching Toffoli's stick and the puck slipped off it 5 hole. If Toffoli doesn't fortunately screw up that play, Rittich makes the save.

More importantly they cannot be allowing breakaways like that.

I hated the Ward re-signing when it happened and I hate it even more now. The guy is the NHL's Charlie Montoyo.

6 games in and I'm already contemplating whether I should bother watching the next game.

Time for Rasmus to take that A from Backlund maybe. I know it takes him a while to get going, but he could at least hit or show some emotion. Woof.

Team showed up to play today, which is good.

Team stopped playing when they encountered some resistance, which is bad.

If they keep playing this way, I guess we are about to find out how long of a leash Ward has (presuming there is a leash, which there may not be).

With the 14 day isolation, it is going to be difficult to replace Ward or the players, so the answers better be in the room.

This team is developing an identity - the team that is easy to play against.

Nope. Toffoli lost possesison and all Rittich needed was positioning because Toffoli wasn't going to any more than bang at it. But he left the 5 hole open. Inexcusable and a terrible goal. No two ways about it

You miss the first three games?
This team has talent as did the team that won the WC two years ago.

The difference is that when the team gets in a rut within a game or after a few bad games, Peters got them out of that really quick. Maybe some hurt feelings but it was effective and those results meant it was easy for the players to buy in down the road.

Ward, like GG before him, is paralyzed by fear and does nothing in game or between the game that has any teeth, and thus lets the team stew in its issues which makes it even harder to pull out of.

Toffoli already has 6 goals. Sure glad we signed Leivo, Simon, Nordstrom and Robinson.
