I know we have only played 3 games, but this break had better not mirror our usual performance after the AS break, which is awful.

Flames were wearing their alternate pants for practice yesterday, but broke out the reverse retro pants for practice today. The pedestal design is so cool.

It is better they get it out of their system now than later.

If things continue positively for him, and with the addition of Markstrom in net, this is going to be one heck of a special season I think.

This is not correct. He was a Center in Carolina

Who's the bozo that scheduled the first flag jersey night before the RR debut.

Smh. Still finding ways to test the fanbase.

At least the ugly white jersey isn't coming back.

Small victories ...

I have a little bit of insight into this — for some strange reason, the NHL did not allow its teams to schedule RR dates before February and after April (I'm less sure of the end date).

So, not really a team decision so much as a league one. The Flames are wearing the flag alternates the minimum number of times they are able to and the RRs the maximum.

Either way, like Bingo said — the red flag jersey is much better than the white one.

Very true. They were frankly hideous and embarrassing.

We may have very well gone from the 30th to 1st ranked road jersey overnight.

When we're talking flag jerseys, we mean the black Cs right? I thought we scrapped those entirely and were going with Red Retro Yellow C, White Retro, and RR as the alternate. Why even use the flag jerseys... why not just hold off using the alternates until we can use the RR?

I still don’t understand the phrase reverse retro

I know both words and understand that there are jerseys being introduced that reference older designs.

I feel like there should be a better word than reverse here

Yes the black C jersey will be used as the team's alternate uniform this season. As I understand it, the Flames decided to keep it to ensure that they would be able to change it in upcoming seasons. If they had decided to scrap their alternate jersey entirely, I believe they would have had to wait a while to rejoin the third jersey program.

I would expect a new alternate jersey very soon. I know the organization thinks very highly of the Black C but I think the current marketing department would agree that the previous designs were too busy.

It makes more sense for other teams where they took retro jerseys and reversed the color palate, like the avalanche. Ours are just a nice version of the original blasty, so the Reverse Retro marketing misses the mark entirely.

Why do people think the road flag jersey is worse than the red flag jersey?

The striping pattern is identical and really both are bad.

If anything the home one was worse because the Blue flag clashes more on the red jersey than it does on the white jersey.

Over half the league now has four jerseys! I'm all for the increased variety, particularly when the baseline has been established with the beautiful primary jerseys.

The home/away are great — so why not experiment with some alternative looks, right? From what I hear, the Flames and Adidas have had some really interesting ideas pushing some of the boundaries of established jersey designs.

More variations seems like a good idea, until you do something like the Miami Heat did last night
