Teams are finding a way to get around their cap problems. Too bad Edmonton won’t make the playoffs anyways.

Also I think this is one of their better signings. I like Bear, but is he a true top 4 dman 🤷#♂️
The joke will be on them come playoff (off-season) time.

Which one is this again, future Orr or future Coffey?

I love how the only member so far to thank the original post is Bear.

I love how Haas is just staring at him in disbelief after the goal is scored.

Sure. But why did it take so long for them to assess the injury. The oilers have been off since August. Just seems sketchy when these injuries come. Not saying they are thrilled to lose Klefbom. But the timing is unreal convenient. Same as the lighting.

It was a nagging injury. He’s gotten multiple drs too look at it and was trying to decide the best route to get back to 100% or close to it. It’s been talked about since the play in that he wasn’t 100% and been speculating he won’t play this year for months now.

Yeah I've been hearing about Kelfboms arthritis issues for awhile now. I thought he was ruled out of this season quite some time ago, I don't think his LTIR is a new thing.

So again, my main question that we’ll never get the real answer for is. Why didn’t he get this nagging problem fixed months ago. Why now on the Even of training is it time to do so. Seems very team friendly to do it this way especially a team in terrible cap shape.

Did you somehow miss the answer to your question right there in the post that you quoted?

The reason he didn't have surgery right away is because he was deciding whether or not surgery was the best option. You know, it isn't always the best thing to do, and it sucks. Is it any wonder that a player will put it off until it becomes obviously the best solution?

There is no conspiracy here, and no, losing their top defenseman for a full season is not remotely "team friendly" for the Oilers. They were already extremely thin on defence with Klefbom in the lineup. Now they look like an AHL team on the back end and in goal.

He’s still not even sure surgery is going to do anything.
