You can also look at both players and call them value contracts. It's not one or the other.

I think part of this is because the general expectation for a centre is to be a playmaker rather than a goal scorer.

So good. But yeah, he had the MacKinnon factor too.

Edit: similar to McDavid and Dylan Strome. Saw him live one time and I couldn’t believe he went #3... and my evaluations are suspect at best.

And Monahan has Lindholm by 91 points also. I just think Monahan gets totally disrespected around here, the leading goal scorer from his draft year and second in points. But lets trade him for magic beans that may become as good as Sean has been.

From an analytics standpoint, Mantha may be the most underrated player in the league.
