Was just going to say that Rogue.

Everytime someone questions use of force, someone else has to bring up WW1 or WW2. Well WW2 was sixty years ago!

Not saying we shouldn't remember and honour, but I will say the rules have changed since then. What worked then just doesn't work now. And this conflict is very different anyway.

Not sure about Japan, but I know the concept of democracy was not a foreign one in pre-war Germany. They did have the Weimar Republic.

I'm not sure about the title of this thread. Is the assertation that "they are losing" mean that at one time "they" were actually winning? Assuming "they" are Al Qaeda, then "they" were never winning. They never enjoyed majority support in the Arab world (especially in secular Jordan), so the fact people in Jordan are protesting the terrorist attack doesn't mean anything has changed because of events in the past few years.
