Why do the Flames resigning Buddy and keeping Gaudreau have to go hand in hand? Its not like they havent played apart before. And i thought Buddy was pretty effective at times during the season. I dont think this is another Dougie+Freddie situation.

Because some of us are sick of reading about the same ####ty offers for Gaudreau.

We tried to take advantage of the situation in an attempt to snuff those out.

I'm fine with this. If Robinson could emulate how Hathaway played in that 4th line RW role by bringing energy and a bit of skill then he can be useful to the team. He can skate and hit and score (in the minors), so hopefully he makes this chance count.

Treliving should have offered him a 7 year deal so that Johnny would sign a 6 year extension. Buddy could become the new Freddie Hamilton.

I like this. Please utilize this guy to the most of his potential.
He's big and big is damn good and he showed he has some footspeed as well.
Can he be a big pain for other teams standing in front of the net?
If so...we've needed this for a long long long time as its something we don't have out side of looch doing it.

Alright Buddy....

I don't care about the Buddy/Johnny connection, Buddy is a solid player and showed he should be able to hold down a 4th line gig and help the team in the process.

I hope that the Flames work a lot with him and turn him into a solid Pk'er. He has speed and a really long reach. I kept saying this about Hathaway as well, and they turned him into a solid PK'er. I always think these 4th liners should be able to take the harder PK minutes off of the more talented forwards.

He isn't young, but because he hasn't had much NHL time, it isn't like he is a finished product either. I would expect him to improve if given some runway. I don't want to see him in the top 6 other than the odd game against teams that are taking liberties against Gaudreau, but I think he will be a very solid 4th liner. I like this signing.
