Does that Nov 15 kind of align with the minimum amount of days between seasons as per the CBA? Also the US election is around then, if they plan on using arenas then that gets pushed.

November 15th was the first date communicated to the teams dating back some time. I believe even Gio (may have been someone else) mentioned it at some point during exit interviews/post-season availabilities.

Players have to plan for the earliest possible date - they need to be ready. I imagine the earliest actual camps will begin is December 1st-10th, as the league aims for a Jan 1st start.

I just don't see the restrictions being gone anytime soon.
Since they have no idea when the border will open, I think we are likely to see an all Canadian division and intra-division games only

I'm sure in the extension there included provisions for the time off between the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons as they just had 4 months off before the return to play, they aren't going to sit for another 3 months.

You got to give the NHL some credit with the Bubble Playoff. With Training Camps potentially starting on the 15th of November, I assume they will follow the same protocols as they did the mini training camp before the playoffs.

What has me concerned is the actual season. The NFL is having a problem at the moment with 4 teams isolated and a potential 5th (Bills) being added to the list. I just can not picture a way this will work assuming the situation does not improve in the neat future.

Baseball got their #### together after a rough start too. All it really takes is players, staff and their families quarantining at home and not going anywhere but to go to games an practices. Seems like a small sacrifice for millions of dollars

Would be interesting to know how long the NHL could run without fans in the stands or even at a reduced capacity

If fans aren't going to be an issue. I wonder if they could arrange for a game to be played on Lake Louise or something to that effect. It would be a really unique way to do the heritage classic, wouldn't rely on having a massive stadium to be filled and act as a great way to highlight Edmonton.

Lake Louise is at a higher altitude than Denver.
