If Brent carries this round (it still looks close), who does the anyone but Peters contingent get behind in the next round?

Playfair? Ward? Page?

I'm going with Jimmy.

I always really liked Playfair (great name too) and was disappointed they only gave him the one season and handed things over to Keenan.

I think Playfair got a raw deal from the players but the change had to happen as for whatever reason he didn't have the respect of Iginla and some others in the locker room who considered him a minor league coach. The bigger issue was that Darryl went dumpster diving for his replacement.

The Playfair era, in my view, is when there started to be a divide in the locker room re. how the team should play. That would play out over the following years between basically the Iginla and Regehr camps.
Sutter was a strong enough personality to keep all of that in check. Once he fired himself as coach - the gap opened and widened.
I view it as one of the main reasons why those teams didn't have more success. They simply weren't on the same page.
I too think Playfair was a good coach, but not in the right situation at the right time.

Will be voting Playfair in the next round, followed by Ward.
