So somehow that one extra Selke makes Carbonneau a HHOF, Lehtinen gets some love, but Brind'Amour doesn't even get a sniff.
Carbonneau was also a Selke runner-up three other times in addition to finishing top5 in Selke voting three more times. A decade of being the best defensive forward in the league is why he's a clear cut candidate for the HHOF.

Lehtinen was a runner-up for the Selke three times in addition to his three wins, and he finished top 6 two more times. I'm a huge fan of Lehtinen, but there is no chance he makes it in with the amount of good players ahead of him. He'd be a weak induction, all things considered.

Brind'amour never finished top10 in Selke voting outside of his two wins and he's a compiler offensively. The only barometer by Brind'amour gets in is that he is better than Andreychuk... but Andreychuk's induction is one of the weakest of all time.

I dont know....there is a lot to be said about longevity and durability as well. He played a LOT of hockey, but no he was never elite at anything.

But Andreychuk is a shoo-in compared to this guy....thats when the bar was never ever lower.

The character issues being the biggest obstacles. Its nice to see has cleaned himself up. But he should get his jersey retired asap

Duha is from the old newspaper era where the best of the best set themselves apart with a high level of polish and the ability to tell a story that painted an accurate picture in the minds of fans that in those times only had daily newspaper and the odd local television interview to learn about their favorite athletes or what was going on in the day to day operations of the team. Nothing like the hot take and shock journalists that are widespread on the internet today that make outrageous takes to generate clicks. I respect his opinion but I do find that a lot of his ideas and opinions are eyebrow raising to the point where I don't know if my fondness for him is due to nostalgia or maybe over the years he's changed so I'm not really surprised he would be a vote for Kevin Lowe.
