This is down to Huselius or Patterson, for me.
An offensive wizard with an underrated defensive game, or one of the best defensive forwards to ever play for the Flames and leader by example with his work rate.
Patterson gets the narrow nod for his utility in the lineup, though I suspect with a combination of recency bias and lack of points he won't have a shot at this.

I went with Tanguay, but I'd be thrilled if Gelinas comes through in the end! Again...

This is a tough vote for me. Kind of wanted to go with Gelinas, but when I looked at the numbers, he only ad 150ish games for the club. So not enough for me, even with the playoff heroics.
Tanguay deserves consideration, but he disappointed a lot in his tenure. Didn't feel right.
Huselius was a guy I enjoyed watching play, and he had a couple of excellent seasons. Cammy the same.
But in the end voted for Patterson. One of the best shutdown guys we had and while he is not as good a hockey player as those I mentioned, his impact on the Flames was greater.
No wrong answer on this one IMO.

this is a real tough one- Bozek, Ferland, Patterson and Gelinas are all among the top of my favorite 'non star' Flames. Cammalleri is also a guy I always liked. Glencross and Ranheim are maybe surprise names here too
I think on balance I'm mulling Tanguay versus Patterson

I voted Tanguay, but after seeing this I think it should have been Glencross. He was a class act, and anyone who chooses to leave the Coilers to become a Flame deserves special credit.

I haven’t seen Patterson play and Gelinas, I only saw towards the end of his career after he was done with the flames.

Same boat.
That’s why it was going to Tanguay, Cammalleri or Huselius for me.
Huselius probably lost a bit of love cause he only had one stint here hahah so it came down to the other two.

Speaking of stints, has any player come back and had 3 or more stints with the Flames?

I went Gelinas for the memories completely ignoring the criteria for voting.

Really tough call. Tempted to go with Cammelleri since he once led the team in scoring but overall he was barely on the team. Also considered Gelinas but he had even less time on the team. Then you have Glencross and Patterson who should be considered based on their longevity however I don't like the idea of including defensively minded players on a best of team.
That leaves my choice as Tanguay who has the most points and was the most skilled of the players remaining. Also despite not having any toughness he was still a decent two way player and never a defensive liability. In his 5 Flames seasons he was only a minus player once.

It doesn’t look like it.
There is a long list of players with two stints but none with three.

Don't feel it's fair for me to vote (since Patterson is an unknown to me) but between Huselius, Cammalleri and Tanguay, I rate them in that order. Huselius was the best creator of the three (the one most capable of driving a top line), Cammalleri was a complementary goal scorer, and Tanguay for the flames was a complementary playmaker.

Huselius is the one I most want to watch, but Gelinas tied himself to Flames history forever. It would be unfair not to have him on the roster.

We should also vote for a few extra forwards on the bench
