Lanny with a shout-out to Winston Churchill HS in Lethbridge. My Alma mater. He was the guest speaker at my grad ceremony.

Murzyn "aw gotta say, I sure miss my buddy Beast"
Nattress "yeah"
Murzyn "hardest part of watching".
Lanny "what a warrior he was"
Nattress "what a picture, when youre talking playoffs, and you see his face"

Holy smokes, this was great. Finally got through it this morning. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to get through it without watching the game but no need--between the stories and the chirping, plenty of entertainment. I had no idea Nattress was such a talker, LOL. Good lord, guy was chirping everyone. He was like a kid in a candy store throwin' jabs at everyone. Joel Otto looked awesome--is he on the Roberts diet/workout routine?

Dennis Morel was blind on all the non-calls with Lemieux running Vernon at any chance he got.

And of course he was the referee that called off Gilmour's goal in 1990 Game 6 OT in L.A.

Remind me what happened there? Drawing a blank.

Gilmour scored in OT. Morel waived it off.

From what I remember, Hrudey was on his butt inside the goal after making a save. Gilmour knocked the puck in and it landed between Hrudey's legs, behind the goal line. The puck went back into play before anyone had a chance to react and Morel waived it off. Because of Hrudey's position inside the goal, the goal judge's view was blocked. The NHL did not yet allow for the use of video replay to reverse bad calls (it was finally introduced in the 1991-92 season).

The overhead angle clearly showed the puck behind the goal line between Hrudey's legs. That was with 1990's replay technology too -- that's how obvious it was.

Had it counted, the series would have returned to Calgary for Game 7. Instead, the Kings went on to win the game and series in double OT.
