I thought his response was terrible.
Of course he shouldn't be looking for a suspension but I hope he looks at that game again to realize how bad his reaction to Kassian jumping Tkachuk really was, he didn't hit, he didn't warn anyone, he didn't chirp either. he looked confused on who his teammates were and was a complete dud. It was truly his worst game as a Flame.
My advice to him would be that when you're making millions of dollars from a hockey team show them, your teammates and the fans that they're #1 in your heart, you can reconnect friendships with former teammates when you retire, they'll forgive you.

Not to defend Lucic in that game, as I also wanted more, but during a tv timeout when Kassian got back Lucic had quite the conversation with him. It wasn'tall pleasantries as a linesman was there. Weitz is right in that the Oilers know how to play him. There is a reason there are barely no scrum after the whistle when he is on the ice and a significant more when he isn't. I am sure the refs are watching him like a hawk and he just has to figure out how he can get closer to that line without getting a suspension for 1 punching someone.

Yeah agreed. I found his response so annoying that between that and Biz' constant interrupting, I turned it off before his interview ended. Love Looch and agree his play really improved afterwards. But his performance in that game, and recanting of it here, really annoyed me.
It actually worries me what he'd be like if we are playing the Greasers in a best of 7 sometime this summer..dude better show up and bring the physicality. You can go back to being friends with the other side after the series is over.

I'd like to think a playoff game would be different. Hope so at least

I can live with PBR if I'm doing the novelty Canadian thing of buying it in an American grocery store for under a $1 a can, otherwise it's the beer my unemployed brother who is over 30 and lives with my parents throws back. If it's your "favorite" well that's personal opinion and I'm happy that you're a happy guy without wanting more, but you're kind of proving my point here. This is a 31 team league, with the best 31 teams in the world playing in it, we have to think like that as fans. Sit down and write down what you think it takes to win a cup: - 1. Norris caliber d-man on your #1 pair
2. Goalie posting higher than a 0.915 sv%, and probably closer to 0.930% in the playoffs
3. 250 goals from your roster...different ways to get there, but:- - two guys have to score nearly 40 (preferably on two different lines)
- three more guys over 20
- 40+ from the back end
- three more guys over 10 each on the checking line
- The 4th line chips in 20
4. A big 1st line center that can control puck possession when the games get tight in the playoffs
5. Speed/Toughness/size/skill/self motivation across the line up
6. Be able to keep the puck out of your net and only allow 190-210 goals against
Now do the exact same exercise with a salary cap, and declining (aging) or maturing players and look at all the other rosters in the league and compare them to the list.
If we want to have a championship team we need to be a championship fan base.
Also congratulations on your podcast, that's a fantastic side project to take on. You're absolutely killing me with Eric Francis though. Ugh...onward and upward from there.
