I'm just glad to see so few votes for Chris Drury. Even though he's by far the most talented player on this list, he was just such a dick about being part of the Flames and was a really poor professional. Good talent, terrible person.

We actually moved up in the draft. Gave NJ a second rounder as well.

So on that basis it goes to him.
Well, I guess based on that criteria, I have to go with Kidd.

I think someone is going to need to contact The Flames and let them know that some of their next higher draft picks are going to need to wear some of these numbers.

Just to add the prospect of some quality to the list.

Yeah, but keep in mind he got traded from Coloardo who he had won a cup with on season prior to the trade and had been to the West Finals with multiple times as well to the Flames who at that time were 6 straight years out of the playoffs, and not exactly looking like they were really on the upswing. Sure he was going to get to play with Iginla...but he was leaving playing with Sakic, Forsberg, Roy, and Hejduk. Plus he was a guy still playing top 6 in Colorado with those top players. I think most any player in that situation may have taken it the same way. On ice, he still played pretty well for the Flames that year.

In fact the Drury trade in hindsight is another great example of a deal where Daryl Sutter did not get a good return on the asset trying too hard to win now. Warrener had the good run in 04, but essentially got paid 9 million dollars after that to be basically play one more season and be a cap bogey. Don't forget after getting Warrener the team gave Boughner who was as good away for a 5th round pick. Reinprecht hardly played in 03-04, and was pretty much given away in 06 in a truely terrible trade. At the time Drury easily should have netted the team a lot more than that. Granted money was a big factor at the time as Sutter did need to stretch dollars but whooo boy, that sure cost talent.

Was it Dean that wore a Jofa helmet as a joke during a skills competition? That’s how I remembered it at least. He used it during the fastest skater and won IIRC

Easy choice. McAmmomd all the way. A 20 goal 50 point season in his first stint followed by being a contributing factor on the 03/04 team before injury in his 2nd. Also is a quirky part of Flames history after not being allowed to play after the reacquisition.

I still have nightmares over Kidd letting in that super weak Sharks game 7 OT winner. What a disaster.

Kidd had awesome equipment but that's about it. I can't give him my vote for all the bad memories.

Like Kipper switched from 37 to 34 when he came to Calgary.

Ok now I can get on board the protest vote train, no way I can ever vote for that sieve Kidd. Still have nightmares from his disaster between our pipes. Ugh, what a time.

Thank you Dean McCammond giving us a viable option.
