If Yelesin switches to 15 (as I expect he might), it's entirely possible he becomes the runaway winner of this poll in a few years.

How does one insert a picture?

I’ve got a McCarthy jersey from his days. Which was also autographed by Candace Cameron Bure. I was hoping to attach to this post.

Had to go with Lavallee. Decent numbers in 3 seasons with the Flames and a fan favourite. One of my favourite Flames in the first few years.

212 GP - 66 G - 65 A.

You have to post it to an image hosting site first, like Imgur. You can't share photos straight from a computer or phone

I had a tough choice between McCarthy and Simon. I decided to go with the Sandman.

I remember one game I was at when Chicago was visiting. Roenick gave somebody a bump after a whistle and McCarthy was nearby so he chopped JR on the leg. Y'know, a simple love tap. JR turned around ready to rumble and his eyes bugged out of his head when he saw it was The Sandman.

Based on what, that? I'm sure you can find much stronger evidence on the CPHL forum that I've lost my mind.

If Yelesin turns into a #4 defenseman for a few years he'd easily be the best player on this list.

He wore 4 with Yaroslavl, and 45 with both Stockton and the Flames.

If he sticks with 45, he can beat the likes of David Wolf, Morgan Klimchuk and give Jamie Lundmark competition.

First vote I’m in the minority for. Had to go with St. Louis.

Can’t stand the guy but half these guys I’m too young to remember and the other half are replacement level (though I did heavily consider Simon).

Simon just for impact. His presence on that 04 team was immense, and he could score!
One of our best deadline trades ever.

McCarthy more tenure but never really saw any team success. Close call and I can see both sides.

Its McCarthy for me.

Sandy gave Flames fans something to cheer for when there wasn't much to cheer for at all.

Brashear finished that year(2 months remaining when they had that fight in mid Feb) in MTL but didn’t make it longer than a month the next year before being traded. Have to think this act of coward ness had something to do with it.

I voted for Simon but I'll put in a good word for Westgarth and Glass. Neither were that good but both were good presences in the room from all accounts and were very respectable fighters. Glass went toe-to-toe with Lucic, no small feat.

Wow, a lot of facepunchers on that list. Churla, McCarthy, Simon, Jackman, Westgarth, Glass.

I loved Sandy Mcarthy, and he was a soldier for a terrible Flames squad for many years. However, Chris Simon in 2004 was by far the best Flames performance wearing #15, so I voted for him. However, AC brings up a good point that Simon mostly wore #17 as a Flames.

I think that it had to do more with the fact that McCarthy didn't tie his jersey down which ripped away from his body (literally looked like it was designed to tear away) and then his elbow pads slipped right off. Brashear had absolutely nothing to grab onto and you can see at the very end that he was trying to undo the fight strap on his own jersey.

Seriously though, did McCarthy have a jersey that was designed to rip away like that (Rob Ray style)?

Yeah it’s not cowardly to skate away once someone loses their jersey. It’s dangerous to engage.
