Crazy when you think about all the quality defensemen lost by that organization either via trade or free agency.
Suter
Weber
Jones
Subban
They still have some quality guys though.

Has any organization drafted better when it comes to defensemen?

Totally agree. The NHL should be proud that the entire event was a big success in the heart of Texas. The fans really enjoyed it and there were 68 body checks. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/...inter-classic/

It should have been more given his history, but I guess they did manage to make this suspension longer than the last two... by one game.

Lifetime Suspension
|
As far as I can tell Perry hasn't had supplemental discipline in nearly seven years, not sure why they decided to crush him with five games. Ellis made a worse hit last week and didn't even get fined.

Because it's the third time he's been suspended for targeting a player's head with his elbow. The league takes a player's entire history into account, and can hardly go lower than his previous suspensions for the same infraction.
That the league screwed up on not offering supplemental discipline for Ellis is immaterial. Also, Ellis did not make a worse hit, since his opponent was not injured. Like it or not, outcome is explicitly a factor in determining if supplemental discipline is warranted.

Someone has Perry in their pool...
Open ice hit where he had full time, space, and ability to choose to avoid contact to the head of that player, but he deliberately chose not to avoid it and concussed him.
And, a history with the exact same incidents, so really a no brainer.

Cotton Bowl is a great venue I was there 25 years ago, God I feel old.

I was there 5 years ago and it is a nice stadium but the stadium was showing its age. Crumbling concrete, rust stains in the ancient bathrooms, etc. I was still happy that I got to see a soccer game there though.
I’m sure that it would be difficult to book due to the Cowboys and playoff possibilities, but I would have loved to have seen this game at the new Cowboys stadium.
On thread, pretty cool that so many predators fans were there in person.

Apparently the league allotted 20 000 tickets to Nashville thinking they could always resell any ones that were not sold and returned to the league. Preds sold them all and asked for more, apparently they sold something like 30 000 when it was all said and done.
2nd highest attendance for a Winter Classic ever if my understanding is correct
