Officials have to start answering some questions about how they are calling games. It is ridiculous that they don’t have to be accountable for their work. Straight up the two ######bags that called that game tonight need to straight up be asked why no too many men call on the Penguins and many of the other non calls.

A lot of missed chances off decent rushes. Like last game, once a goalie gets into their head in a game, the adjustment is they start shooting high and missing the net.
Backlund now 17 games without a goal. Quasi 2nd line centre, where this team needs a strong second line. And for around half of those he’s been on the top line as a winger where they desperately need a guy who can get his nose dirty and finish...not play around the edge looking to make a nice play.
Lindholm is a finisher. So was Ferland. Backlund isnt.
Flames need they extra gear and need to be pushed to get that extra goal. Can Ward do that?

Seems like allowing consecutive goals in a short span is the most recent issue we're having.
Got to come back strong the shift after the opposition gets on the board. Really important for these guys to make sure of that.
Maybe Ward needs a go to line he can rely on in those situations to just cycle away from our end at least and stop the bleeding.

That first period was one of the best I’ve seen by the Flames. Too bad they couldn’t get more than one past Jarry. They’re Going to run into hot goaltending from time to time. It’s just a shame that it happened in back to back games. I would like to see Mangianpane moved down the lineup or to the press box. He shows flashes but is way to soft on his stick and feet.

Far too many times they miss the net from wide open right in front. Mangiapane is the first was really bad. Monahan in the 3rd was a foot wide (though the puck may have rolled on him). Lindholm shot it high from in close. Too many others to remember them all.

They can play good (and I think they have) but bottom line is that you’re not going to win many games scoring 1 goal in 2 games.

Tough to lose 2 in a row like this after that dynamite win streak where they looked almost unbeatable. Clearly they still have a few things to work on, namely finishing their chances and hitting the net. The PP continues to be their most glaring weakness. Get that figured out and they'll be just fine.
Officiating was ridiculously awful in that 3rd period. Flames should have been awarded at least 2 more PPs late in the game.

Tough losing that one, but the effort was there and that's huge for me when I watch the Flames. We were close to tying the game with that crossbar but puck luck wasn't on our side. Pretty good game overall. Second period wasn't very good but they were quite good in the third, and great in the first.

Likely because Crosby wasn’t playing.

Likely because Brodie wasn't on the ice when he got his interference call

The joke is because Brodie wasnt even on the ice when the ref raised his arm to call the interference penalty he was called for.

Game Takes:
Penguins 4 Flames 1
- Sketchy second period undoes a great start
- Calgary only gives up six high danger chances in 60 minutes
- Tristan Jarry the difference

F*&^%$g referees are pathetic. Maybe the Flames should practice shooting the F&^%^$#g puck at the corners of the net instead of F*&^%$g with those stupid soccer balls. All kinds of point blank chances in the last few games and they shoot it at the goalie or miss the net. One body check all games doesn't help either.

Backlund is so frustrating. I’m beginning to think he’s the proverbial player with all of the tools and no tool box.
