Probably? I think Backlund has been struggling on faceoffs this year.

I like that they're willing to experiment. Not totally sold on Lucic-Ryan-Gaudreau though. It'd be pretty easy to swap Gaudreau and Dube if it doesn't work - reunite a successful 3rd line and still get a different look on a Gaudreau-Monahan-X line.

I hope Tkachuk-Lindholm-Mangiapane get a long look together.

Also wouldn't mind seeing Hamonic and Andersson swap - I liked the Hanifin-Andersson pairing and Hanifin-Hamonic have been pretty bad this year.

I have wanted that first line (or a slight variation on it) since midway through last year.

I think that second line will get waffle stomped, but a recombo of gaudreau-Monahan-Ryan will look good behind that first line.

Onwards and upwards!

I like it, especially Lindholm at C.

Only tweeks I'd try

Dube-Monahan-Gaudreau
Jankowski-Backlund-Frolik
Lucic-Ryan-Reider

Although I do actually see Gaudreau and Ryan working well. Not as a season long scoring line, but something that could be effective in short bursts

Tkachuk-Lindholm-Mangiapane

No brainer IMO. Tkachuk and Lindholm have been our best forwards, and Mangiapane is not that far behind (in terms of generating offence and overall compete).

Monahan-Backlund-Dube

I'm interested to see how this line does. Monahan is better than Lucic, and Backlund should be better that Ryan, so on paper this is almost like a promotion for Dube.

Lucic-Ryan-Gaudreau

This could be what gets Gaudreau out of his funk. Mangiapane and Dube have both benefited from being on Ryan's wing. No reason why Johnny can't do the same.

Nothing wrong with experiments in practice.

I’d think either shift Johnny to his off wing with a left hand centre, or keep him on the left with a righty. But what do I know. Maybe they don’t want to bust up Lucic scoring tear by moving him

I'd like to see a Phillips-Gawdin-Czarnik line at some point this year.

With some extra days before the next game, why not shake it up a bit. Really curious about seeing Monahan on the wing. Might force him to play with a little more jam and perhaps with a little less defensive responsibilities, give him a chance to heat up.

While the 4th line isn't very inspiring, I liked their last few games together (Reider and Frolik). Jankowski would sit, if it were up to me.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Also a message sent that the first line is split up completely. One to each line.

Really like the new coach trying to do some new things.

Doubt this happens in the games, at least yet, but I'd be curious to see the outcome. Only one I blinked at was Monaghan on the wing, wow.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Ward says they want to see more of Lindholm at centre.

Says today and tomorrow at practice gives them an opportunity to experiment with it. #Flames

Happy to finally see Lindholm more at C. He's been arguably our top forward this year, why not see if he can continue that while playing the most crucial position.

Lindholm clicking at C would be a massive positive for this team going forward. Easier to find another top 6 winger than a top 6 C.

I'm honestly floored that after all these years we still have the same glaring weakness on the ####ing roster.

Backlund getting older, Bennett and Jankowski flaming out spectacularly. Missing out on ROR, Schenn and Kadri.

Ridiculous.

When/ If the Flames get healthy, I would like to see something along the lines of.

Tkachuk-Lindholm-Mangiapane
Gaudreau-Monahan-Dube
Bennett-Backlund-Frolik
Lucic-Ryan-Czarnik

Rieder-Jankowski

Today was Johnny Gaudreau's day picking the music.

I gave him an A+ for the playlist.
