I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Went to my doctor and complained about how dry my skin was this winter and if he could prescribe something. He told me that his dermatologist colleagues all rave about a non-prescription lotion you can get just about anywhere:
Cerave SA renewing lotion
You can get it at Shoppers, London Drugs, etc for about $13-15
Life. Saver!
Cleared up my dry skin after literally one use.

After years and years and years of dry skin, I've tried damned near every product available.the best thing I've found to work is... nothing at all.
Clean with hot water, only regularly use soap where there's skin to skin contact. Once in a while, handling ground meat, I'll rub the fat leftover on my hands into them. Works better for hangnails and cracking skin than any product I've tried.

Do you happen to live in the American Gardens building on W 81st Street?

I suffer from excema and dry skin. I rarely get bad excema episodes anymore as I have cortisone cream that I use immediately when I feel an episode is coming. I also have a problem with scents so most lotions are taboo for me. That is changing but even small scents really bother me.
If it is for what I would call minor things that are most usually the norm, like dry chapped hands, feet etc, inside of your nose is dry, honestly, good old fashioned Vaseline works wonders.
For hands, put some on before you go to bed, and then wear cotton gloves that you can get at the Coop Medical centers around town. Same for your feet and put on cotton socks.
Just rub a bit in your nose before you go to bed, same for your lips.
Of course your spouse won't see you in the most romantic way so either use the treatment on select nights only or after the romantic interlude.

I had the same experience last winter. Put it on and didn't have to put any on again until like a week ago. I couldn't believe it.

I use Gly-Miracle. Seems to work best for me. Makes you smell like a senior citizen though. I've only seen it in Edmonton, but apparently there is a place that sells it in Calgary.
