Talbot has kind of had that issue going back to the Oilers. It would be nice to see him have a solid 60 minute game where he doesn't let in a questionable goal. It would be nice for the Flames to get the first goal rather than have to chase.

That's a loser's bet! You know that the chances of Bennett scoring a hat trick are close to nil the way he's been playing.

I'll make a bet that's much more probable. $50 donated to CP if Talbot gets an assist tonight.

You can't even get close to STH cost right now.
At the risk of derailing a GDT...

Speaking from my own personal mindset, going to a hockey game in Calgary is a royal pain in the ass in terms of overall experience. Watching the actual game itself is a good time, but getting to the Dome, getting into the Dome, getting to the seats, getting to the washroom, getting to the concessions, getting out of the Dome, getting home from the Dome... yeesh.

I love watching live hockey, but I love my sanity more.

The only time I enjoy going to a game is on a weekend where I can take a Beer Bus to and fro.

I ride my bike down a lovely path, say hi to security and lock my bike up next to them. Stroll on in, grab some beers and sit down. It's lovely.

GFG!

If you are able to, I would recommend parking a few blocks away, its cheaper, and ends up taking nearly the same amount of time to leave the building. Otherwise, I agree, the main concourse during intermissions is pretty brutal.

Especially with the underpass across from Bell Centre - it's so easy to walk from, say the City Hall parkade.

Also, suck up to a big law firm and get invited to a suite. The bathrooms are great, the food is sitting there and the beer's in the fridge.

Lol Darryl would be great behind the bench.

Flames should come out flying! But knowing their history they will probably be half asleep.

The building has traffic issues for sure.

My seats are great because they're on tailgate alley so the crowd is way easier to negotiate for beer and food. Plus with aisle seats you're in and out quick if you want to make a bathroom rush.

But 730pm start on a Wednesday night is rough for ticket selling I'm sure.

Oh and back in the day Darryl used to call Tony Granato "Cammie", but that was before she became a star player in her own right lol.

I miss Darryl...

My work is quite close to the Dome, so for any weeknight start times between 6-7 I can just walk down a few blocks if I bought tickets.

What home games do you not attend? I thought you went to them all and that's why we wait for the ATL.

Agreed -- parking at the Saddledome would drive me completely bonkers. Not only the traffic getting down to the rink, but the clusterfata trying to leave after the game... which is why I don't do it.
There are definitely other options if you don't mind walking a bit before and after the game (especially when the weather is still decent). Another poster mentioned the City Hall parkade -- I'm sure there are other spots as well that are cheap if not free. Don't think it adds much in the way of time either.

I also generally try to avoid concessions, which means I rarely ever need the washroom. Saves time and money. I appreciate that's not going to work for everyone though.

For a 7:30 puck drop, it might be a good time to do the Hockey Happy Hour before the game -- less busy and cheaper as well (I'm sensing a theme here... ).

Thank God for a game. That Cherry thread made me want to quit this forum. Hopefully Talbot pulls through today, it's going to be a tough matchup.

Hopefully a practiced Flames squad looks better than the one we've seen for the last bit.

Hopefully I'm wrong on all fronts. 7/8 points on the homestand would be huge going forward and we could potentially leapfrog a couple teams in our division.
Mike Ribeiro always killed us. I hated those days.
