I bet he loses the job to Greiss just like he did to Grubauer. Never been a Varlamov fan.

Crazy they wouldn’t offer more than 2 years to Lehner but are willing to give Varlamov 4.

I would feel better if it was $4 x 4 as with his injury history and spotty play he could easily be their backup goaltender as Greiss was pretty good last year and played almost 40 games himself. That said as long as the Islanders keep playing 90's hockey his numbers should improve by default.

Lehner has past demons, which might have scared them off a longer term. It was a feel good story this year, and I really hope he continues to have personal success.
