He's got that "Obama / Nenshi" feel to him. I could see him rallying the progressive masses if given a chance.
He’s definitely starting to capture more and more of the engaged folks in early primary states - strong in the latest polls in Iowa and New Hampshire and on an upward trajectory. He’ll start facing a lot more scrutiny as a top tier candidate, so we’ll see how he handles that.
Pete Buttigieg was one of the candidates on CNN's Town Halls tonight and I thought he was, by far, the most well-spoken, intelligent and rational speaker out of any of them. Dude just gets it.
If you did any research at all, you'd know that he isn't a one-note candidate. He's also every bit as intelligent and well spoken as anyone in the race.

I think that no matter who is nominated by the Dems, that person will be the next President. The midterm results showed that Trump has re-energized the Democratic base exceptionally well, which was needed because HRC was a wet blanket for enthusiasm.
I'd give it 95% that the Democratic nominee wins going away.
I think Buttigieg will be the nominee and I think it'll be close (and a lot can happen before November 2020) but I think Trump will really latch onto the supposed (and inaccurate) exoneration provided by the Mueller report and it'll be enough to give him a second term.

Bernie Sanders did an hour long townhall on fox news last week. I’m surprised they gave him that much air time.
My favourite part was when they asked Bernie why, despite earning millions since 2016, he only paid the minimum amount in income tax. Bernie scoffed and then asked why Trump hasn't released his tax returns. Just another socialist hypocrite.
Buttigieg is also openly gay.... Lol at the idea that America will elect a gay president.
I could definitely see him winning. If he manages to appeal to the centre (which I would say he has done so far) then the Democratic nomination is his to lose since everyone else seems hell bent on moving even further to the left.

Biden is basically peak centrism and he has roughly 100 times more organization than Buttigieg. This is a two horse race between Biden and Bernie which is ironic for Bernie because the reason he's top two right now is "establishment", namely he has his ground game firmly established from last time, and Biden has the Clinton/Obama network to lean on. The intrigue of this primary is to see if anyone tries the Trump approach of being off the rails to attract maximum media attention.

Dems love to make things hard for themselves...that is why Trump is president
I don’t see how this makes things hard for Dems. Pete is ex-military and comes with a decent amount of proven political experience. Those things play very well across the board.
Pete, to me, is a no-brainer. Incredibly well spoken and measured, and certainly says the right things to take the centre vote.

I didn't say he wasn't intelligent and well spoken. He clearly is. I've watched plenty of interviews with him and the theme of his campaign is heavily weighted toward UBI. If you had done some research you'd know this.

I agree. He is so calm and measured that I wonder if he is able to excite voters from the stump. He comes off a little bit like a policy wonk and as we know there is a large contingent of voters everywhere (particularly in the US) that zone out when a politicians answers exceeds 10 syllables.

He said the increases he’s looking to legislate would apply to him as well. How does him not currently paying additional taxes make him a hypocrite? It’s not as if him paying supplemental taxes will get everyone else to do so.
