I wish there was some forum poster who was smarter than the entire CP zeitgeist that could post here telling us that Monahan is actually not good and we're all morons.

Anyone know a poster like that?

Mike Smith had a whale game tonight. So many redirected shots hes reacted and stopped because he was keyed in.

Thatw as a great wake up game for the sleeping Flames. Monny who was under fire, top line rolling, James Neal will take em anyways he can get em. PP looked awake. PK was good.

All in all, a nice W against the woeful Duck team. Shell of their former selves for sure, but I hate em anyways. Suck a fart Ducks.

Gotta admit with how he's played the last ~5-6 games you almost gotta start building some confidence in him.
Absolutely love it, as well as how much our team defence has tightened up, looking good going into the post season

It's really crazy and incredible that Mike Smith was able to statistically recover from his horrible start.

Smith's first 13 GP, up to November 15 (collapse vs. Montreal):

5-7-1, .876 SV%, 3.48 GAA

Smith's last 27 GP, since then:

17-8-1, .912 SV%, 2.35 GAA

Smith's season totals:

22-15-2, .900 SV%, 2.71 GAA

He has responded well and consistently since the Minnesota nightmare. No real headshakers. There's a little more confidence there now. I think he passed .900 at last with that effort.

Both guys are playing like average starters lately.

Been lurking and waiting to post this pic again since the Vancouver playoff series in 2015.

That was pretty much best case scenario!

Monahan getting his confidence back is crucial. Cant wait to see me build on it next game!

This game in my mind is the proof some may have needed that Monahan is in fact, not injured.
