I could see this happening, also considering the history that Green has with Rattie.

I would like to take a moment to openly mock anyone who chose Rattie in their hockey pool. I know my pool had one guy who did.

No. We've already seen that Flames have enough depth in Stockton if any injuries come up, I want our young guys getting ice time before taking in Oiler rejects

Why?
If he isn't good enough to play for the tire fire that is the Edmonton Oilers, why would you think he would be good enough to play for the 2nd overall team in the league?

I think someone on CP made this comparison (not sure who).

But the Oilers are the guys who barter their way from a house to a red paper clip.

Well that was fast.

Players get traded away. That happens. Often you can follow the trade line and see where it dies. Sometimes it lasts a long time and sometimes it ends quickly.

Not even two full seasons after Eberle was traded the return they got for him is essentially gone. They quickly dwindled the return down to a player who is currently on waivers and will very likely not give them anything in return.

Look at an example on the opposite end of the spectrum. One that is close to home.
Kent Nilsson. He was traded for a 2nd round pick that became Joe Nieuwendyk. We got 8 solid years out of Nieuwy. He was traded for Jarome Iginla and he did okay for us for a bit longer. Okay, Iggy was great for 16 years! The return we got for Iginla has essentially ended this chain (we still have Andrew Nielsen but like he's going to do anything or get us anything). We got over two decades of good performers after trading Nilsson.

1.5 years or 28-ish years? Yikes!

The ship is taking on water fast and it is so enjoyable. Even if I didn't cheer for a rival team I would get endless entertainment from the Oilers misfortunes. The organization is a special kind of bad. They have surpassed the Browns as the worst organization in North American professional sports.

I always liked Spooner (until he was traded to Edmonton of course).
He was never a top 6 guy, but put up decent numbers in Boston. Did he really fall off a cliff, or is this a case of playing on two bad teams (NYR this year, and obviously Edmonton)?

The contract isn't great, but I could definitely see someone picking him up.

I’m sure Hitch said last night that he needed o get Spooner into the lineup. If so, that is awesome that Spooner is waived following the coach’s plan.

It's unfortunate for Rattie. He's a true top line player but when you have extremely skilled guys like Chiasson come in, there's just not enough room. Hopefully the Oilers are able to use the cap-space saved from waiving Spooner to sign top line forward Chiasson too.

Apparently Oilers' practice cancelled this morning for a team meeting followed by "media availability".

Not that I endorse anything good happening to the Canucks, but it would be fantastic if they could make Rattie work and have him burn the Oilers multiple times every season.

Me too, if he was serving Beer at the 'Dome.

Oh? On the Hockey Team you mean? The NHL hockey team? No. I dont see who he'd replace.

Maybe.....no. There is nobody on the team right now that I think Rattie could capably replace and improve upon.
