If you have dogs with long fur, robot vacuums are a lost cause. At least they were for us.
They clog way too frequently and are difficult/gross to clean.
I hate our vacuum it is the dumbest robot I have ever seen constantly gets stuck, it vacuums everywhere except the spot I really want it to, it slams into your toes super hard also my dogs are terrified of it because i think it tried to vacuum one of them up

You guys really need to use the Lidar or camera based vacuums, they never slam into things and almost never get stuck unless you leave like a sock or something on the ground.
My Roborock S5 Max works great, segments out the room, and vacuums in lines on a schedule w/ no go zones. The brush design is also fairly good and doesn't jam up with hair that often but I imagine you'll still have to clean up the brush every other vacuum with pets. Should check out the Vacuum Wars youtube channel review on this.
Though they are a bit pricier than the dumb vacuums... unless you wait for a big sale.

Roomba has rubber roller versions that aren't supposed to clog as easily. I returned it because I didn't see a huge improvement over my iLife robot, but I can attest I didn't have to clean the brushes of long human hair as I did with the iLife.

How much did you pay for your S5 Max? Looks to be about $600 shipped from HK/China.

Got mine for $700 off a Bestbuy marketplace seller in Canada for faster shipping. Looks like they are $750 right now... might get cheaper again if you wait a bit but at that point you might as well order from wherever is cheapest now.

Picked up the S5 Max for $440 USD on US Amazon today during Prime days. Having it shipped using a US mail forwarding service. Alleviates my worry of trying to get warranty help from China/HK.
They look interesting. How close to the baseboards can these things get? Would also be pretty cool if they could actually clean the dust from the tops of baseboards as they're going around.
iRobot - good for people with pets, run it more regularly than I would get off my ass to vacuum, a bit noisy but I'm old and cranky, so everything is "a bit noisy" these days.

Yeah, we do a good deep weekly vacuum with our Dyson Ball Animal 2 but we have an iRobot that helps keep it looking somewhat neater throughout the rest of the week... we have a Lab and labs shed twice a year, once in January for 6 months and then again in July for 6 months.
I find mine getting smarter all the time and the discussions getting more interesting.
At first we mainly discussed cleaning, but it has advanced to talk politics, philosophy and even it's true propose on this earth.

How does it feel about the creation of the Universe? Many have discussed it and consider that to have been a poor decision.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
My wife spent a large amount of money on a Roomba with mopping feature. I absolutely hate the thing. I spend more time troubleshooting it than it actually saves me.
The vacuum feature is okay. The mop feature is complete crap.
It's connection to the base sensors is super sensitive, and it has to be on the exact right spot. I normally spend a half hour at least fiddling with the piece of junk before it will connect ot the sensors. Then it needs to charge for another hour.
She also bought a cat, so we can't turn the the roomba on, unless the cat is supervised, which kind of defies the point of having a Roomba, as you want it doing its thing when your not around.
We also have a 3 year old who covers our floors in tiny objects that the Roomba gets jammed up on. It can't navigate up the very small ramps that separate our hardwood from the tile in the kitchen and bathroom. A single strand of my wife's hair seems to be enough to jam up the machine. You have to pay for bags for the roomba to empty itself into.
The Roomba has a mop feature, so it has liquid in it. If you turn it upside down the liquid spills directly into the machine, and the machine has no waterproofing for the electronics. We've already had to get one replacement, as a very tiny amount of liquid got into the electronics, which was enough to not actually short circuit it, but convince itself that it had been short circuited and a factory reset can't undo that.
I F-ing hate my roomba and if we hadn't paid like $1600 for it, I would have smashed it with a hammer a long F-ing time ago. Biggest scams on the market. The technology is nowhere near where it needs to be for these things to function on a basic level.
Our Roomba will likely be a reason me and my wife break up. I kind of want that to happen so that I'll finally be able to destroy the damn thing.
I honestly believe that the average for robot vacuums got ####tier over the last 3-4 years. Unless Roomba has always had issues?
I got a Roomba i4 EVO for $220 all in. Great deal vs $550 normal. If I could get a mulligan, I'm spending $150 on an iLife V9 or $230 for the v9 pro. It's mostly identical features, but has the one feature I wish I had in the V8, which was using an app to activate it to clean the dust in the house 30-45 mins before I got home.
We have a, Ecovacs lower end vacuum/mop. All hardwoid/tile floors, no carpets. Mop heads rotate. Self c leans with pre heated water. Have done over 500,000 sq feet with it and still very happy. Floors are incredibly clean. Like white socks drag you feet everywhere and still white.
