He’s was getting a silly award just after he lost the chance at what is a milestone moment in his life...quite justified in giving zero ####s about getting that award. Then he gave an eff you to the crowd who was booing him at the time....it wasn’t just out of the blue.
Give these kids a break, they’re not seasoned professionals and shouldn’t be expected to always make the perfect choices. But to boo the kid in the subsequent game, that’s shameful!
No excuse for the crowd booing him. Period.
But you can’t excuse his behavior. These players have played in hundreds of tournaments (maybe dozens) to this point in their career. An 18 year old is fully capable of losing with class and I’d expect better of kids much younger than that.
He apologized so hopefully that means he owns his mistake and is learning from it.

I always enjoy seeing a big Canadian crowd cheer for one of the other countries in this tourney. Must be a pretty awesome feeling for those kids to have that backing. Who was that goaltender for Slovenia (?) one year in Toronto that one year and the crowd was chanting his name?

I don't think anything will ever beat Sweden beating Russia in 2012 at the Saddledome. Listen at 4 mins in this video. That is literally as loud as the Dome gets for major Flames goals in the playoffs.
