That pick would have to be a first for sure if the Flames are getting 2 useful pieces, plus dumping a big cap hit.

If he's gonna get a 3rd pairing LD, I hope he targets someone tough/physical (who can actually play).

Kronwall makes a lot of sense as would someone that slots in on the 4th line ahead of Dube. Our path to a final will go through some heavy teams. Anything that keeps us from playing Prout or Peluso when we need some muscle that allows us to maintain a higher pace...

Edit: Ah, I see.

Isn't Kronwall super old and slow now? I seem to recall seeing Wings fans just trash him constantly, wanting him to retire.

He's a defenceman.

I think he meant Kronwall and someone for the 4th line not that Kronwall is a forward.

Terrible for what he's getting paid but still solid enough for 3rd pairing minutes

Kronwall would bring a lot of experience and physicality. Make it so.

And Thomas Vanek! And Nick Jensen! And Jimmy Howard!

Let's just turn into the Red Wings and get ALL of their pending UFAs!

Should probably look at the teams Treliving likes to deal with or has dealt with. Montreal for example.

Will a guy like Kronwall ride the press box? I’d rather not pull Andersson or Kylington out of games to keep your extra D conditioned and happy with how well they’re playing. You’ll also have Valimaki back at some point.

I get that depth is important, but I don’t think we want to mess with our rhythm the last 20 games getting someone acclimated. Then again you don’t want Prout and a rookie Kylington as your only options should someone like Gio get hurt. Stone’s condition is an X factor. Tough call when you’ve got 3 rookies playing so well.

I just don’t see how guys like this would be an upgrade or push Kylington and Valamaki.

For injury depth, i guess, but you better not being paying much. Like highest offer should be rights to Mitch Mattson, that’s it.

No draft picks traded, doesn’t matter how low.

Yeah, the Flames wouldn't be looking for anyone to usurp the current six. I think they're as good as the Flames need. But what they need is guys who can step in right away and fill in just in case guys are banged up or fatigued.

Funny enough...Engelland or Reaves would be the perfect fit. No way Vegas is a trading partner though...

Not sure how I would feel about it, but I would not be surprised if Tre is looking at McQuaid. Likely costs a 4th pr less.

If you're looking at a pure rental, left-shooting d-man the options are incredibly limited. I do agree blueline depth isn't just important, I think it's mandatory for a playoff team.

Be nice to see Tre somehow upgrade Smith as well. I'd be a lot more confident with a backup without confidence issues.
