Last game Mike Smith should ever play for the Calgary Flames. I don’t know what to do with him or that contract but I do know you can’t play him and give away points anymore. He’s given the team zero reason to put in an effort in front of him when he kills momentum at every turn. Worst goalie since Hiller, probably worse. At least Hiller won this organization a playoff series

There are plenty of backup goalies available that won't cost hardly anything. At this point dressing Harvey as the backup is a better option.

I have no doubt that Treliving is doing everything he can to find a better option. I have no faith that the Flames will find an upgrade during the season—not for the price they would be willing to surrender.
Besides, when your goaltending tandem accounts for a 7-2-1 record in ten games, that's not at all terrible (5-1-1 + 2-1-0).

Pretty hard to defend the Flames on the subject of being elite or a top team when they keep starting the worst goalie in the NHL with predictable results.
Guy had a solid career but he is done

Bah. Players too busy Xmas shopping or they just couldn't get it up after the Tampa game.

My biggest concern with giving up this game is that this could very easily turn into a 4 game skid even if the Flames play well in Winnipeg. This is a tough part of the schedule with 2 of 3 games against the two top teams in the league. It’s one the Flames should win every time, and was always a risk to be a trap game. Disappointing for them not to show up better and get the points they shoukd, first time maybe back to the Dallas OT loss or the Mine Smith debacle vs the Habs that we can say that about this team.

Don't disagree at least until we get closer to deadline and then who knows?
But we need to stop playing Smith until Rittich has an awful game or set of games. Or simply needs a break and this wasn't a game that fell under either category.

Concerning trend developing where we play amazing vs top teams (Winnipeg, Nashville, Tampa) and then immediately follow these awesome performances up with absolute stinkers (vs Vegas, Edmonton, St. Louis). That needs to be rectified if this team is going to take the next step. Sucks to go into the break on a 3 game losing streak but these types of games happen to most teams when a long break ahead is looming. Nevertheless, still disappointing.

So, your second sentence is utter nonsense, but I am interested to hear who you think might be available, affordable, and would provide a tangible upgrade on Mike Smith.

The next game after the break is against the Jets. It doesn't get any easier.

You know it’s bad when you have to cite which debacle it was because there’s been so many

Anton Frosberg out of Chicago. If they aren't going to tear down I,E move Crawford, grab him.
Jordan Binnington
Mikko koskinen if he does the right thing and not re-sign with the tire fire to the north.
Jake Allen (Change of scenery could help him right the ship)
