Its an automatic goal if the tripped/hooked/held player had a good chance of scoring. Its pretty subjective but should probably be called more often, including when Backlund was hooked in the Minny game before everything went south.

I am torn here. A Winnipeg win allows us to strengthen our grip on the Pacific division lead. A San Jose win gives us sole possession of first place if we win tonight!
It's too bad the Jets won as they are now in 1st place. The main thing is that the game ended in reg time, no 3 point game.
The rookie goalie sensation for the Flyers has worked for the 2nd game in a row. Carter Hart made 31 saves with his mom in the stands again as the Flyers beat the Predators 2-1 in reg time. Both teams were excellent on the PK, 4/4 for the Predators and 6/6 for the Flyers. The irony is that the Flyers have the worst PK in the NHL. Philly's new coach must have done something.
The Jets squeak out a 5-3 road win against the Sharks. It was 3-2 after one period for the Jets as the goals came early and in bunches. Ehlers gets the hat trick and strong goaltending by Hellebuyck who made 41 saves. Byfuglien showed that he can skate fast, he scored a nice break away goal.
