Nothing major here. I've broken 4 fingers from 4 seperate incidents. Football, basketball, wrestling in phys. ed, and falling down stairs. Also, a broken nose when I was a youngster. thats about it I think.

My only broken bone bone came when I thought I was being chased by the police for throwin an egg at a taxi (I didnt throw it, but I was with guys who did who werent my friends, and hey i was 16, dont judge me).........Anyways, we were running away and we had to jump a fence, keep in mind I was a little drunk and it was 4am on the day before school started. I stood on the fence looked at the ground about 8 feet below, jumped and POP.....there goes the ankle....broke it...had the over the knee high cast for 6 weeks
Now this story kind sucks I know, but it turns out we werent being chased at all, there were no cops, the cabbie had driven off and I had a broken ankle for very very stupid

Can't say I have had a whole lot happen to me which is a miracle considering all the accidents, crashes, and other incidents I have been involved in over my life. Or so my family says.
Worst thing was a concussion after being knocked head first into the boards during hockey. Had to go to the hospital and get a whack of tests and a bunch of wires attached to my head. They didn't find anything, but I could have told them that.

Oh god what a grim thread
My injury list
5 confirmed concussions
1 broken collerbone (came over the blueline with my head down
1 broken wrist (Showing a girl I liked that I could hang upside down on the jungle gym while it was raining)
1 broken knee cap (decided to surf into a tree on a crazy carpet to impress the same girl)
1 explosively fractured ankle with burst ligaments (stepped in a gopher hole during a drunken bar fight)
1 fractured ankle (got pushed down a flight of stairs during final exam week in a dispute over different girl)
1 fractured orbital bone (Duck . . . what!? . . . thwack)
took a rifle but to the face which detached a retina (completely my fault for not paying attention to what I did)
did I mention
7 stitches in my forehead (my sister threw a plate at my head frisbee style as I was laughing about a particularly good burn)
torn bicep (most recent, come on man . . . chicks love the gun)
seperated pec (see above)
include a thousand nasty cuts and burns

I've broken a few things. When I was 15 I broke my ankle playing basketball in one of those 3 on 3 tournaments. The nets were set up in very temporary style and the supports on the bottom were 2x4's and when I went up for a tomahawk dunk (ok it was a layup) I landed right on the 2x4. And wouldn't you know it, my mom was there recording it all with the camcorder . Rehabed quickly and was back playing football in a few months. I've had a few other football injuries but nothing too serious.
Now the biggie. 4 years ago I was living in Winnipeg working as a framer with my uncle and cousin. Cold spring day in April and it was windy too. For those of you that are in the industry you know that you don't cut out the window's to keep the wind down. We're buliding the upper walls and I'm cutting the top edge of the aspenite and I guess my cousin had cut out 90% of the one window. I'm moving to the left and I step right on top of the window and go right through. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but this window is right on top of the stairwell opening. I fall the 8-9 feet and land square on my one foot. Broke 4 of the metatarsels and tore some ligaments. The term for the injury is a lisfranc which is a fracture/dislocation. I had surgery a few days later, had 4 screws put in and was in a cast for 4-5 months. After that it was a walking cast for another month and a few more months of rehab. 4 years later I still walk with pain.

Broke the pinky on my left foot, followed 2 weeks later by the pinky on my right foot.
A month later I broke 2 ribs. Wasn't a happy camper for a while.

On the 25th I'm having surgery at Peter Lougheed to stitch together torn ligaments in my right ankle, and also to vacuum out some bone fragments. Walking has been growing more painful for the last few months so I'm hoping this will help me out. Just a lot of use and abuse (volleyball, running, skiing, etc). It's going to be six weeks in a cast and another two months on a cane, from what the doctor says.
My only hope is that I'll be able to maintain an active lifestyle after I recover.

Also sprained my ankle and got an enema waterskiing.

Ha, I got a nasal enema while waterskiing once. Forgot to let go of the rope.
My worst injury was majorly dislocating my finger in a barroom brawl...I'm not a fighter but was with some friends and a cousin and they got us into a bit of a pickle and I had no choice but to take part.
Not being a fighter, I slipped and landed directly on my finger. It was bent completely backwards. They took me to the hospital and the doctor tried to put it back in place which was the most painful thing I've ever experienced. He advised me to seek physiotherapy when I sobered up to work it back into place, as broken pieces of bone prevented the finger from properly re-aligning. He said laser surgery could zap those bone fragments out of there.
Of course, I thought better of that idea and assumed it would fix itself over time. I have a messed up finger to this day, but that's okay - when I get mad it serves as a good reminder that I'm a lover - not a fighter.

I broke my femur years ago playing hockey............that hurt like hell.
A few broken ribs..........not nearly as bad as the femur, but the one time I busted some ribs and had a cold at the same time. Didn't feel very good every time I sneezed and coughed.
|
ouch!
I knew a guy who broke both his femurs playing hockey in Peewee / Bantam. It's a shame too. Darn good hockey player and he got drafted to play for Kamloops, but the injuries really slowed him down.
Worst I've had is a seperated shoulder playing hockey, and I once dislocated a knuckle in my pinky playing football.

Three times I've broken my right collar bone, other odds and ends, but my grossest was last May when I ripped open the skin on my leg which left a gaping hole in which you could see my shin bone....Disgusting....

I broke my right wrist and I took a knee to the head giving me a concussion playing goal in soccer.
That's it though. Although I'm sure I've broken at least one of my toes sometime in my countless stubbing of them.

What kind of bar were you at? One of those Alabamey style hick bars with the swinging double doors?
The parking lot was made of dirt & there were prairie dogs galore...
As for my own injuries, I've had probably 300 stitches in my life. No broken bones (except nose)(scrapping).

The left knee still dislocates from time to time.
|
Ha. I have the same problem, only it's both of my knees. It used to really hurt, now I'm so used to it I just take a breath and pop it back in fairly calmly. Sucks though, cause it always happens at the most random times. I could be just sitting down, and cross my legs and *POP*.
Hmm, worst injuries... Hard to say. I've honestly had very few serious ones, despite playing a lot of contact sports and being at a total disregard for my body for a number of years. Haven't even broken a bone before *knocks on wood*, but I figure that's probably because I have really strong bones. Six glasses of milk everyday since you were like eight, really does help!
So... I don't know. Have to say a couple sprains and stitches.

broken cranium, broken big toe, broken fibula, various sprains etc.
actually quite lucky looking back in the past... grew up with no television to watch except CBC and badly received BCTV, so i spent a lot of time outside.
kids nowadays, when they're not popping ridlin like pez and playing video games, are bundled up like michelin men when they go outside.
the trailer park i grew up in was all gravel roads and i was bleeding constantly! what are these kids going to do now, develop invulnerability complexes or something? they've got more padding than patrick roy!
