My mistake, I assumed this particular deal was worth that $216 million amount. I guess that's not the case. The deal is not exclusive so maybe that's how many of these deals they're expecting to sign (X amount which equals that $216 million total).

In the end that won't move the needle too much, maybe $2-4 million on the cap.

I wonder how much of this had to do with Vegas' cup run last season. If the team played like they 'should' have last season (ie. Crappy expansion team), does this deal even exist?

IMO Vegas making the finals was an absolute dream scenario for the league. You couldn't ask for a better marketing platform then having an expansion team make the finals, all among the lights and glory of Las Vegas, NV. Now they are reaping the financial benefits of such a historic feat.
