The 5dman powerplay.

The date is Dec. 1, 2010. The Calgary Flames have lost a game 7-2 to the Vancouver Canucks

I'll never forget that lunacy.

***I did forget Mason Raymond had a hat trick for the Canucks. Brutal.

I remember being more disappointed in them laying another turd in following game in Columbus. That was the games where I basically threw in the towel with Iginla/Regher/Phaneuf and the rest of that lot of Flames and basically was calling for a rebuild.

Seeing too many parallels in their don't give a blank attitude with this current group.

They lost at home 7-3 (I believe) to the Oilers a few years ago. That was horrible. I think Chad Johnson was in net.

In terms of blowouts tonight’s was up there but as for most painful, far from it.

Game 7 1991 playoffs vs the Oilers. This was officially the end of the dominant Flames teams we had for basically 10 years. We had finished 4th overall in the NHL this year. We had the highest scorin team. Yes even more goals then the eventual Champs Penguins with Mario, Jagr, Francis, Recchi Stevens, Coffey etc. This was officially the end of the great Calgary Flames teams imo

My father recalls the Flames losing 12-4 to the Red Wings. That was Oct. 29, 1981, almost 36 years to the day.

They year after they won the cup they lost 12-4 to the Kings in the playoffs. That one made me want to cry.

I was there, and both teams were nearly gassed. Tampa's crazy fortune to be so healthy all year gave them that small edge, alas.

As far as worst losses goes, I remember that 10-1 loss to Edmonton, so that's the one.

Might be the only game I've ever booed the team. I was a new season ticket holder. What a total let down. They were so flat.

The WORST game ever was Game 7 against the Sharks in 1995 where effing Trevor Kidd couldn't stop a beach ball. We were so dominant on offence we set a scoring record for a 7 game series and still lost. 35 goals.....

I went to that game and didn't attend another Flames game at the Dome for another 6 years after that.

Being blown out by Ottawa last year in Jagr's first home game was a real kick in the nads. All the excitement and energy the dome had before the game started felt like a playoff game. Quickly followed by disappointment and questioning why I was sitting through that entire debacle. I think that was the final home game of the season I went to last year.

3-0 Vs Anaheim.
5-4 Loss against Anaheim 2 years ago.
9-1 Thumping last night was pretty bad.
9-0 Thumping from Boston.

Every loss to the Oilers in recent memory.

Most painful was that game 7 against the Oilers, where they were up 3-0.

Everything about that sucked.
Vernon giving up a softy to open the door at precisely the wrong time.
And then an anti-climatic OT winner by Tikanen that ended it so suddenly

The Bure overtime winner was also painful given the chance Bob Reichel had earlier. But nothing stings more than that Game 7 Oiler loss

Yup IMO that's the one that will always stick with me. Division winners. Anaheim not the cup contender quite yet. Prime Iggy, Kipper, prime D corps. Elite coach. Elite home record. 100+ points season (the last one). Even the papers had stories printed about the potential 2nd round meeting vs the Oilers.

Only to have the team completely crap the bed on home ice. Absolutely brutal and I still get disgusted thinking about it. No excuse. That game brought about the end of Sutter as a coach and just a domino effect of Flames' teams that never lived up to expectations that still lingers to this day.

At least game 7 2004 I knew they played their heart out that post season and never were expected to even make the playoffs, let alone make it to game 7 SCF. It was easy to be proud of that team.

The 2006 game 7 loss brought no pride and nothing but shame.
