Neal already unhappy about being on the third line. I would be too. That's not why he came here.

Neal came here to score goals. As long as he is scoring goals, everyone is happy.

Don’t disagree. But he didn’t come here to play with a rookie and journeyman centre, I can promise you that.
He’s also not on the #1 power play unit either.
Having said all that, it is game one. Things will no doubt change.

He'll get 3 or 4 minutes less ice time than Johnny's line 5 on 5 but be a mainstay on the top PP unit. Not a big difference.
This team doesn't have the stereotypical bottom 2 lines, it's the top line and three 2/3 lines. It's undeniable that Lindholm has meshed well with the top duo so Neal just has to show that he's the better option and he'll find his way there, if it matters that much.

Numbering lines is kind of archaic. Each line has a role and I imagine the 3M and Dube-Ryan-Neal line will be used in similar ice time. Neal will always get PP time and will get shifts with the Monahan and Gaudreau periodically

He’s currently slotted in on the second pp unit. Tkachuk is the first unit.

Peters suggested he'd be playing with Johnny and Mony the first shift after each PK - probably because Lindholm is expected to be on the PK.

Talk about fake news...wtf is wrong with that answer? I wouldn't read anything into that interview. Neal should be excited to match up against 3rd lines.
And the Flames need a little dirty in the lineup

i'm not sure what the big deal is? I'm sure he will get lots of time with Johnny and Mony this year. I'm just saying that I have little doubt he expected to play a regular shift with them when he signed. And, he's not as of right now.

Throughout his career he's played all over the lineup and has still produced. Unless they give him very little ice time he will be fine.

Season hasn't even started yet, and Neal is already a locker room cancer with a s**tty attitude. Yay!
Just joking of course. In all seriousness, I thought he seemed fine in that interview. He knows this team has a deep roster, and they're gonna utilize him where he's best suited. If that's on the 3rd line then so be it. If he does his job and produces the way we know he can, I'm sure he'll get all the playing time he wants. If he's seriously bitter about it, then suck it up, buttercup. He has nothing to complain about IMO.

Dot 1: Desirable scoring free agent
Dot 2: Open spot on Gaudreau's line
Must connect dots.
