Good fourth liner. But man he took the worst offsides and played too high in our lineup.

Well, at least he'll be able to hit the magic mark for pensions; 400 games.

I don't think in my entire lifetime I have seen a player with less understanding of the concept of offsides.

Looks like the Oil have their plan B for McDavid's wing in case the greatest power forward in the league Ty Rattie falters.

That hasn't been a thing for at least the last two CBAs.

What are the qualifications for pensions? There must be a certain amount of games needed for full pension no?

Darn, that's too bad. He's a good guy, wish he would have found a spot on an NHL team

How many games have to be played for a player to receive full NHLPA retirement benefits then?

10 seasons gets you $255,000. Which is the max.

Not sure if 5 seasons gets you exactly half of that. Can't find data on if it's linear.

Players earn something for every 20 NHL games played now though.

Right now heading into next year they have 15 players under contract, and about 12 million in cap space.

If Rattie has a good season with McDofus, Poolparty has a decent season, and they have to find a starting goalie that's making 3 to 4 million since Talbot will want probably 5 million they're borked.

Borked man.

I can't believe how bad that lineup is and how little cheap help they have coming up from their farm system.
And if they have any attained bonuses and they go over the cap, does it still reduce the next season’s cap?

Yes, but they don't have much in terms of potential bonuses this year. Puljujärvi is the only one with anything significant.

Sign as many 4th liners you can and hope one can magically score 40 playing alongside McDavid.

The Oil model.

Then overpay, declare unhappiness, run player out of town, draft high, ruin draft pick, sign 4th liners. It’s the Oilers’ circle of life!

I am happy that Chiasson found a place to play though. Good luck to him.
